I just saw a video on Youtube from Gavkoo. Someone hacked and deleted Cutlerylovers account. Over 1500 videos he made are gone. I can't understand why anyone would do this. I loved watching his videos, he's the person who got me into taking a more serious thinking about my EDC and whenever I'm buying something new I search if he made a review of it first. Sad day indeed.

i no a bit about hacking and the mentality of hackers and i cant understand why anyone would go out of there way to hack him of all people?

i hope he gets back on youtube tho. i like his videos. good luck to him

As the guy says in the video, I hope he's got some kind of back-up/recovery open to him. :(

I spoke with Jeff today and he is really distraught. He's not sure whats he's going to do because he has been making $2000 a month from his channel and that paid all his bills. I will probably talk with him again tomorrow so if I have any updated info I will be sure to pass along.

That was the 1st thing that came to my mind.
Surely Youtube can restore his account from a few days ago, if not weeks. That would be a helluva lot better than nothing.

I also believe he wasn't streaming live on youtube... :) He must have the original video files somewhere offline as well. IMO it's not the data loss that matters that much, as is the burden of having to set up an account from scratch, amass viewers, hits, etc.

He had none of the videos saved. Youtube is being of no help from my understanding. He lost way over 1500 videos and 70,000 subs. His new whiskey channel was also hacked and all info lost. I wish Jeff the best.  :salute:

So after he filmed something, and uploaded it, he just deleted the raw footage?  Thats pretty crazy if he was making income from it.  First rule in the tech world is have backups and dont trust one copy.  Tough lesson to learn I agree though, but you usually only need to learn it once.  I've had similar problem, but not nearly to that scale.
