Scandinavian Knives

Hey everyone! Somewhere along the line I developed a hankering for a Scandinavian knife, but after some research, I have discovered that there are a LOT of choices. I can narrow things down a bit since I'm pretty poor at the moment, but I still find myself indecisive. So I would love some assistance in narrowing my choices down, if ya'll don't mind! I'm mostly looking at Mora and Helle knives. Since Mora knives are a lot cheaper, I'm definitely leaning toward those. I was thinking about "just" the Classic, and using it as a neck knife. The thing is, I'm worried I probably wouldn't take decent enough care of a carbon blade, so I was considering the stainless steel version, but that's an extra $30... So, thoughts on this? Would it be worth it to get the stainless steel model?
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!
Also if anyone has a Scandinavian knife that they want to maybe sell or trade for... let me know!

Are we still talking about mora here? Because their stainless model is generally $2 or 3 more expensive than carbon model. Also mora sheathes aren't suited for neck carry, not enough retention.

The laminated steel blade is $44, whereas the carbon steel model is $18. Unless I'm being stupid...

The laminated steel blade is a substantially different beast than the standard stainless steel blade. It's a high-carbon steel core sandwiched between two stainless steel pieces to protect from corrosion and add toughness.

The laminated steel is still carbon, I think it's euro equivalent of O1 hardened to 61 for the core and some low carbon steel for the sides. I'm not very familiar with their lineup, but I don't think the wood handle ones come in stainless.

Have you tried neck carry before? I tried and can't stand it, at least on knives that's large enough to be useful. Also while scandi grind is excellent for wood carving they don't work well for general use, I've changed both my mora users to regular grind.

My mistake with the laminated steel.

I had a feeling but I wasn't sure.

I've not tried neck carry extensively, but I'm interested in trying it out. I'm interested in a Mora (or any Scandinavian knife) regardless of how I end up carrying it.

I have a Spyderco Bushcraft, and it has O-1 steel and a scandi grind. I'm very fond of it, but it seems too nice to me for regular use as a camp knife. But I'm definitely not very well traveled with any fixed blades, so I guess I'm quite the neophyte in that realm.
