I saw that.  All I can say is I don't think the dump truck with my name on it has GPS because it's sure having trouble finding it's way to my house!  :P

Camillus is trying to bring some of their manufacturing back to the US and away from the brink, so I wouldn't necessarily write this one off just yet.

Lets hope he has some control what his name is put on, unlike the other "survival guru" on tv.

Les Stroud will personally support the launch of the knives by doing an autograph signing during the Shot Show, at the Camillus booth, on the 17th and 18th of January between 1 and 3 PM

I did post this in another thread too, but here is what the knives will look like:

At least Bear actually uses a fixed blade, whereas Les generally uses a multitool....

I watch both, for the entertainment value mainly, when I can.

I like how they pretend Camillus now is the same company that was in 1876...  :ahhh

Speculation on them has not been good, and since United Craplery owns Camillus I imagine that they will be in the same category as S&W and Schrade stuff.  It's sad, but there is some slim hope as last I checked, there were some improvements with the Camillus line.  I'll know for sure in just over a week, and I'll be sure to report back ASAP.

So, I assume they will not be advertising on Multitool.org in the near future...

Camillus actually has a higher-end line made in VG-10 steel.  I don't know if it's Seki or China, but the quality wasn't bad at all.

Reading about this on the esee forum and I just had to bring this post over I laughed.

"carbonitride titanium non-stick technology sounds like a radical new game changer to the knife industry".
"Hhhmmmmmm………so, the non-stick blade could double as a frying pan???????"

Camillus is owned by Acme Brands, not United Cutlery.  They also own Clauss.

Ok, I guess I was misinformed.  Not the first or the last time that'll happen!

Still, considering Acme is also making a lot of crap, I don't think I'd want to take a chance at being the next Wile E Coyote.   ::)
