Dad's Knife Shop?

Anybody ever order from them? They've got some stuff that I can't get from forum vendors.

I have seen their site. They were taking orders on some things that were not available yet.  I do not know anything about them whatsoever.  I will say that EDC depot advertises that they can get things that are not available on the website.  You might want to try contacting them.

Gave up looking and ordered from Defense Knife and Tool. Shipping rates are getting ridiculous. $12.44 for a little box that probably weighs under a pound...

I've ordered from Dads(CRKT Dogfish), fast, good service and good prices (on some things). I've also read about others who have and liked them too.
judge others by how they treat those they are allowed to mistreat

Decided against ordering from Dads 'cause half the order would've been 'special order' and that would've taken another 3-4 weeks according to the website.

Dad's Knife Shop web site is here.  I have no experience with them.

Actually got good deals on a lot of stuff. For under 17$ I really might check out the Taylor schrade tool.

Good luck, but don't say you weren't warned!

I have been tempted to get a Taylor Schrade ST1 myself and test it head to head with the original.

Def i had the original and loved it. When it came down to using it I really found the orig tool to be a good user. It had a lot of short comings but it was a servicable tool.

I still think that Schrade will NEVER be the same, but I really havent held teh Taylor one yet so I guess for the short change I will be ordering it.

Hell I carry the Lowes Kobalt tool once in a while and that one is a Scheffield.

I wouldn't mind the Made in China label so much if it weren't for the fact that Taylor specializes in taking the absolute cheapest route.  I have actually seen a S&W SWAT knife from Taylor where the liner lock slid all the way to the opposite side of the blade and got lodged on the wrong side of the blade where the spacer is, allowing the blade to be folded to a 90 degree angle.  This was a brand new knife and is typical of their "quality."  If they can manage such spectacular feats of incompetence with a single bladed folder, what new levels will they plumb with something that has multiple moving parts?

Plus, instead of steel, they use an interesting substance that resembles really old dried cheese, spray painted silver.

I get stuff from bladematrix most of the time, but I'm still liking Smoky mtn knifeworks free shipping promo currently going on.  Cheap tools can turn out to be good, but mostly you get what you pay for.YMMV.

Speaking of Schrade ST-1..the other day in my local Kmart,I spotted in the case SIX US made Schrade ST-1's..they've been there so long that the plastic clamshell is yellowing.I guess the 49.95 price tag has kept them being sold.
