Was out wandering around the mall with a friend last night. Stopped by Bass Pro Shop and while I was there finally decided to grab one of the Lansky sharpening systems. Used it on my Workchamp blade that was in dire need of attention. I gotta say, I like it a lot better than the Spyderco Sharpmaker I've been using for years. A bit more work to set-up and use, but I got much better results out of it a lot faster and easier. The 20 deg angle was perfect for the Vic. Shaves my arm completely smooth now

I found a small random scrap of leather that I superglued to the outside of the case for a small strop to go with it. I just got the standard set, so no diamond or ultrafine, but I don't see much need for it. Should I ever need to re-profile something I may grab the diamond, but the coarse seems like it should be more than enough for 95% of the repair work I'm likely to ever need. I'll probably grab one of the ultrafine stones at some point however.
With the strop glued to the case it really does make a wonderful self-contained sharpening kit. Two big

from me.
