This one arrived today! That was fast, it took only three days to get from Canada to the Netherlands! :mail:

It's my second Syph007 custom and I have to say I love it. The overall quality and fit & finish are way above Victorinox standards. The polished brass liners and spacer and the polished backsprings are gorgeous. The gray scales are so much nicer than stock ones (with their small imperfections around the edges). The tools, including the scissors, open and close beautifully. It's a work of art.

Excellent work Robert

Glad you like it!  Ya I've really been liking brass lately as is nice to work with and polishes nicely.  I can make one of those spacers in only about 15 minutes now from raw sheet to finished piece.  It used to take me way longer.

That brass spacer wont ever move on you either, its riveted to the liner.  I started doing that awhile ago so they mated up perfectly and it bugged me when they rotate.  :D

I also wanted 1 of each of the hard anodize colors I run, so I built myself a collection of all 4 urban pioneer colors.

Agree with the previous posters. And those colors look much nicer to me than a lot of the ones Vic has been making on their special runs. The recent deep blue is also much more appealing than the baby blue of the first HA runs you did. :salute:

That dark blue with brass liners is near the top of my favorites list.  It looks so nice in person.  The thing about hard anodizing with the thicker oxide layer is you generally get a more muted matte finish, which to me I like.  Normal anodizing looks shiny by comparison.

The customer who bought that one was really happy to get it.  :D  Thats the big sheepsfoot blade one.

A blue cadet with scissors and a pocket clip!  Knifekits sells these very small steel clips that just suit a cadet size perfect I think.

I finished putting together that pioneer with the Ti flip lock I started a looong time ago.

The thinner brass scales were too thin to use the countersunk screws I normall do, so I had to rivet.  They arent perfect, but fuctional.  I still see a couple dings in the pics I missed buffing out and it needs a final polish, but it works.

The lock up is very solid, better than I had thought, but the Ti is naturally sticky against steel, so that was an advantage.

It was way more effort than I bargained for, so this isnt something I'll be doing again. :D

Boyo posted about those quite some time ago. Glad to see your take on it as well. :hatsoff:

I'm sorry we don't see him here anymore. :( I like the idea of it and it does seem functional. I'd like to try it one day. :tu:

Yup thats where I saw the idea way back in May I think.  It looked easier than it turned out to be.

Edit: Found it here... it was back in April.

Im back to working on some custom scales for alox again.  Ive got a set of ribbed 91mm scales ready to go for black HAIII this week, and also I cut my first set of 111mm smooth alox scales.  I even milled out a slot for T&T so I can build my ultimate 111mm alox EDC when these come back.  :D

Well after cutting a few scales by hand, I finally got tired of it and just impulse ordered all the parts to CNC convert my mill :D  It'll be here just before christmas so I guess that's my present to myself.  Then I can start cranking out some proper alox scales for 91s and 111s.  Ive had so many people ask for them, I gotta just make them.  With CNC capabilities I can do some cool designs for grip patterns too.  :D

So.. this comes with ballscrews, motors and everything I need except the driver board.

:D :D :D :D

Now to patiently wait....
