I was brainstorming liner lock liners for 93mm SAKs awhile ago with SAK enthusiast Ana from Spain.

http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,34772.msg842209.html#msg842209

I did finally come up with a design I was happy to gamble a test run of parts on and the parts should be back from waterjet next week.  This is the design I ended up with as a test.  I only committed one square foot of 0.050" Ti for this, as I didnt want to cut more than that without some more testing.

If my design is correct I should only have to bevel the SAK blade pivot area just a small amount to allow the liner lock to move onto the blade and lock up.  The liner only needs to be bent and then heated gently to reset the metal's internal stresses and it should be good to go.

I am a big fan of this angle with all the tools open and the brass liner goodness on display.

Can't wait to have one done up for me.

Awesome build Syph. I just love the way it absorbs light.
A true cutting essential murdered 93.
Thanks for sharing.

Holy crap!  Looking forward to the liner lock.  If if is a go, I might have to send in a Syph original for a bit of a tuneup!

Sticking with the black/brass theme, here is a really pretty one I got done today.

It almost feels like a 108mm GAK with most of the tools opening on the same side.  I cut the brass keyring holder by hand and Im really pleased with how well that turned out.  I riveted that piece to the adjacent liner as well so it will never wiggle and always be perfectly aligned (my OCD is happy with that).  :D

Some stock silver alox today.  :D  Maybe not as exciting as colored but it does pocket wear very well.

Cool :D

Anthony from EverydayCommentary had bought a blue urban pioneer from me before Christmas and I found a video of he did about my custom.

SAK Modder Custom Pioneer

He must have quite a few followers on his various social media channels as his use of the SAK has brought in lots of quote requests.

Thanks also to Sticktodrum for recommending my work to him.  Sticktodrum's original video review of my work also generated quite alot of email traffic for me.

OMG these bad boys are finally ready for pick up!  It's been a long wait for these suckers but my waterjet guy just let me know they are ready for pickup and I will go get them tomorrow morning.  He got 39 liners from the 1 square foot sheet.  :D  Now lets hope they work!

I was brainstorming liner lock liners for 93mm SAKs awhile ago with SAK enthusiast Ana from Spain.

http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,34772.msg842209.html#msg842209

If my design is correct I should only have to bevel the SAK blade pivot area just a small amount to allow the liner lock to move onto the blade and lock up.  The liner only needs to be bent and then heated gently to reset the metal's internal stresses and it should be good to go.

And todays mod was an 84mm version of yesterdays mod...

I dont keep any 84mm parts any more, the fellow sent me a bantam and scissors to combine, so it was just an assemble job.
