Losing the nylon pads was usually the main thing that ever went wrong with most of my mice, Logitech or otherwise... I found that getting a huge mouse pad solved that, I have a Steelseries QCK+ : Height: 2 mm (0.08 in) Width: 450 mm (17.7 in) Length: 400 mm (15.7 in)

Usually the mouse getting caught on the edge of a plastified mousepad is the culprit of losing the nylon pads... so having something way bigger than the area I need sorted that out plus it's nice and comfortable.

Also currently have a couple Logitech LS1 (usb wired laser) on hand as they are dead cheap and work well...

The main reason I keep this mouse besides it's reliability is the fact that I never need a pad for it, the eye works well on almost any surface so I've never even used a pad for it.  The nylon pad fell off about 40 times before I finally lost it.  I even glued it once.

I'm on a laptop and find using the trackpad no bother, if i see a cheap mouse i might get one for my work laptop as the trackpad is tiny!

I actually use the tracks on my laptop quite a bit.

Sent from a Galaxy S3 far, far away using R2D2.

Today I replaced my several year old  Logitech LS1 with another one... the rubber ring on the bottom half of the old one has a divot in it from where my thumb rests... otherwise it still functions great... I went from Grape Flash Jaffa (orange highlight ring) to Grape Flash Acid (green highlight ring)...

That looks pretty sweet.

I can't stand corded mice these days though, but then I have also pretty well dispensed with a whole computer desk type setup.  My desktop is hooked to my TV for downloading stuff, and it doesn't even really see much of that anymore either.

Everything else is done by laptop and/or tablet, and done wherever I happen to set it all up.

I have a cordless laser as well... I don't even bother with it anymore, as if I forgot to set it on the charge cradle overnight (which sometimes didn't connect/charge properly) it would start being flakey or die on me, plus being a heavy duty user, the corded ones are just more convenient on my desk.

Mine is powered by AA batteries, which I usually carry spares of as that's what my camera eats.  I use them until they die, then just replace them.  They seem to last months though, which is good.
