Downloading off of Youtube

Does anyone know if there is a way to download videos from Youtube?

ha, there are videos ON YOUTUBE about downloading off of youtube.   

I figured it out BTW, it's just I can only play them in a Flash program

It's easy!

1- Let us assume you just finished viewing a movie clip on YouTube.
2- In your internet explorer, open <tools> then <internet options>, then in general tab, go to settings. then <view files>
3- You will be navigated to <internet temporary files>
4- In the right pane, click <type> to sort the temporary files by file types.
5- Look for the file type <FLV type>, these are the temporary files of the movie clips you just viewed.
6. Transfer or copy the desired file to another folder and rename. Play using windows media player.
 
Note: It will be more advisable to clean all contents of the internet temporay folder before doing the 6 steps I enumerated above. The files with file extension FLV can be played by windows media player.

There's an addon for RealPlayer that allows you to download stuff off Youtube.  I haven't used it myself, but nary a video goes by that it doesn't as me about!

You use RealPlayer?!?!? It has to be the most annoying and useless bit of software around, i use real alternative whenever i have the misfortune to come across a real file that i need to play.

It's a lot less invasive than the Apple version, it also allows you to open .mov files in other applications (QuickTime player is horrible!)

Might have to take a look at that then.  I only run Quicktime as it came with my Ipod.
