Quick question about the forum.

How do the little colored boxes under under everyone's name work? I believe them to represent post count in a sense, but is there a Color and Number of box kind of system going on here?

Its one of those default forum settings that I don't think we ever really did anything with.  It has something to do with post count but I never really paid that much attention to it so I really can't tell you how it works.

If it's that important I can look it up and see if I can figure it out?

Stars and badges. That's a property of the group which you are member of: an image and the number that it should be displayed.
Grant's administrator, so that group has one badge ().
Felivenet belongs to Multitool Banner Member and that group has five stars of green squares.
No Life Club's has six stars of yellow squares.
And so on.

The post count based groups (yellow blocks) are:
Newbie    *
Jr. Member    **
Full Member    ***
Sr. Member    ****
Hero Member    *****
No Life Club    ******
Absolutely No Life Club    *******
Absolute Zombie Club    ********
He who posts the most, wins!    *********

And there are mini different banner ones for administrators/moderators/admin team/charter members... and some other extras... I should clean these up a bit :D

:pok: Yes, but how many posts are represented by each star  :ahhh
Is the representation linear or exponential??  :ahhh
Do you loose stars if you do not post for some time??
After how many posts do you become Administrator  ???

Actually it works the other way around.  You don't lose anything to become an administrator, but if you become an administrator you lose everything!

Seriously, if I had any dignity it would be long gone now after all the dress comments, the shower pics, the pink kayak debate and so on...

I like the system.  The tiers are not quite far enough apart for the lower ranks, but they spread out as you post more, which is a better indicator of tenure.  I think we should also have a badge for months/years spent as a member.

I'd consider that but it's a bit embarassing for me personally, as a guy who came along a year and a half after I started this place, and who hasn't been around much for the past year or so has a significant amount more time on my forum than I do.  You'd think as the owner, administrator and very first member that I would have more time logged in and a higher post count than anyone, but Ben and Mike put me to shame.

I've noticed that!  Not your shame, their post counts!  I have a bad habit of reading posts when I have no time to reply, then forgetting to reply later.  Otherwise I think I'd be at around 6k right now.  As it sits, I am pretty much beyond caring about how high it is, it's just going to get higher!
