Colonial Knives question
on: February 15, 2012, 11:59:28 PM
When was Colonial's knife production moved to China?  If I found a knife with a copyright of the late 80s to early 90s, what are my odds?  It's a sealed blister pack, so I'd not want to open it if I can help it.

I'm giving Dave Bowen a heads up on this- he used to be in pretty good with Colonial and he may be able to answer.

I know, these brands can get confusing because it seems they all crossed paths at one time or another. And production could be Rhode Island (RI) to Ireland.  Some of the brands started having problems and being sold off, acquired by other companies, or closing all together, right around the copyright dates you list

Colonial
Imperial
Schrade
Frontier
Camillus
Hammer Brand

A decent site for this is All About Pocket Knives, you might try researching there.

And their related/resource links page.
