No one has a machete? I hope to have this by the weekend as my buddy and I are suppose to go hiking if all goes as planned. Were headed to hike a natural spring on one of my grandpa's pastures at the farm. We will hopefully make it a good ways up but its straight up hill basically. Maybe we can ride a cow to the top.

Not an Esee, but my current favorite machete is this one.

I know you don't care for Cold Steel, but for $20 this is perhaps one of the best bang for the bucks in the knife industry.  The look on people's faces when they see this thing is more than enough reason to have one.  :D

We're a two billhook family, but no proper machetes!

Looking forward to seeing yours though :)

I have had one of those silverlines before. I ended up cutting it up for the steel.

I have a 20" machette ... somewhere  :-[ It comes in a plastic sheath with a built in sharpener. I think it was marketed as Dutch Army or something when I got it. The blade is fine and has been put through some tough challenges. I've even "found" lumps of concrete and steel etc at full swing in some scrub land I was clearing, and after a few flicks with a file it was good to go again.

I still want to get my paws on a Chris Caine Survival Tool though. I know they're a bit pricey but I like the fact they're made less than 5 miles from me at Scorpion Knives ... and what I've seen of them so far (not in the flesh yet) they work extremely well.

Funny thing is it was the same price as the silverline. A small shop that I go to quite frequently as they have lots of second hand tools. As they keep the big blades out back you pay your money and take you chance.

Didnt even realize ESEE sold a regular machete.  It says on the site blade from el salvador.  I wonder if its a condor blade, they make a crazy amount of machetes of good quality.
