I ordered a small SAK item from Deal Extreme ages ago. Needless to say, I haven't received it yet. This morning, I find this link in my email tree.

Deal extreme does have a bit of a reputation of selling items that are not in stock and then having people wait for ages to ship them.

However there seems to be a general problem in China now.
I ordered some items from Focalprice nearly 2 months ago... still not here.

Today I saw this message in my focalprice account:

Dear customer,

Thank you for your continued support and purchases with FocalPrice. As you may have noticed, China shipping has unfortunately been very unreliable recently. We have received many inquiries about this issue and would hereby like to answer some of the most important questions.

Why the delay?
During the Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday from 14 to 28 January, many Chinese industries shut down as most of the country's 1.3 billion people simultaneously go on vacation. It puts an especially heavy burden on the Chinese logistics industry and transit times are extended significantly during this period. The fast growth of China's e-commerce industry is also adding pressure to the local logistics system.  During CNY the China Post does not update any tracking information.

Delivery Time
During this time, orders from China are usually delayed by around 2 weeks.
to North America (Canada, US) ------ 15-25 business days (usually 7-15 business days)
to Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, etc.) ------ 35-40 business days (usually 15-25 business days)
to Europe (UK, Germany, Czech Republic, etc.) -----------------15 -25 business days (usually 7-15 business days)
to Asia (Singapore, Philippines, Japan, etc.)-------------------15- 25 business days (usually 7-15 business days)
to other countries(Italy, Spain, Israel, Sweden, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Poland) ----35-50 business( 15-25 business days before)

Order tracking
Online tracking for China Post orders is currently still not available. China Post have announced that order tracking will be available again starting from 20th March.

How to contact us
Due to the unusually high amount of messages we are currently receiving, please only contact us via My Message or RMA in your FocalPrice account. This is the only way we can ensure that inquiries are processed within 24 hours. Claims for refunds currently take between 5-7 days to process (usually 3 days)

Important: Please do not contact us via E-mail or Live-Chat as these services are currently not available.
Be sure to get in touch with customer support before opening disputes with Paypal. We understand that many orders have been delayed recently, but opening disputes will be sure to prolong the process and make refunds or resending of orders very difficult.

I got the video too. I don't think it's meant to say your specific order will be late, but sent to everyone who has a pending order as they are generally behind because of the golden week.

Well I did get a battery charger from them just last week, sadly I ordered it back in November. >:(  Also the cells I ordered at the same time didn't get shipped in the same package.  Now I've no idea if they have been shipped and not arrived, or they just forgot to put them in with the charger.  While I have send a message I've yet to get a reply, frankly I just can't be bothered to wait another 3 months for them to sort it out. :(

Did you get a small piece of cardboard, bookmark looking thingy with something painted on it and a number written by hand in that envelope? That's to tell you that part of your order hasn't shipped with the rest of the package. You can check what got shipped on their web site. I sometimes receive the missing parts of the package before the original package arrives. :D I'm getting better though, haven't ordered anything  from them for about 4 months now.

No I didn't, so does that mean they've just forgotten to pack the batteries?  The customs deceleration form only lists the charger so I was still kinda hoping the the batteries would be coming alone separately.  :-\

Are all the items marked as shipped? And if so, is it marked just shipped or shipped - split as mine (had to wait extra 2 months for the fresnel lenses to arrive).

Deal extreme became such a pain in the arse that I just gave in and haven't looked on their site in a very long time.  An item isn't cheap if it never arrives and frankly when stuff did it was often broken or not quite right ::)  Waste of my money and time  >:(
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

DX used to be awesome a few years ago, but now you're right it's ridiculously slow service.  Most of the items sold there, are also sold on ebay from hong kong sellers as well.  I found ordering from the ebay hong kong sellers much faster, so I havent used DX in ages.

Well I ordered 3 things just before x-mas and one week ago I got a mail that the last thing was just shipped.
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

Wow, that was extremely helpful mate. :tu:  I now know that the batteries have NOT been shipped, so I can at least expect them at some point in the future. :)

This thread has been pretty interesting.  I order a fair amount of items from DE and have never had any issues with them.  Delivery has always been around 2 weeks with no issues at all.
If you took all the intestines out of your body and stretched them end to end... you would die.
