Thanks PostNL for your ridiculously high shipping charges 

You guys may think I charge too much for the bigger/heavier items over on EDC Source, but in fact in some cases I actually lose money on the shipping costs
Did you know that shipping a bigger item outside Europe (i.e. thicker than 3.2cm, e.g. a SwissChamp in its original box), with tracking and tracing is €24.30 or about $32? That's just stupid!!!

And I thought UK postal prices were bad.  Actually they are, just not quite that much.  Saying that, they increase next month, again

I just got back from the post office. €41.20 for 2 packages with tracking number, a letter with confirmation on delivery (all three within the EU) and a regular letter (to Asia).

We have a volume as well as weight scale in the UK. Except here its for domestic post.  Without boring you with the details it means a Spartan can go as a large letter but a Huntsman would be a packet and cost a chunk more to post.

International post is quite reasonable so long as you don't require any form of delivery confirmation/tracking.  So not so bad for low value stuff between friends in countries with decent postal systems but it gets very expensive very fast for auction sales

For instance, a Spartan sent over to Ireland (or anywhere else in Europe) with delivery confirmation is £6.44 (€7.29, $9.52USD).

yeah UK prices suck neil, sadly the reason i dont send overseas as much these days, i find sending stuff RM is like the lottery as you never know how much it will be  although always too much

At that price point, might as well just use a courier.  Is fedex still that much too though?
