New member here from the Chicago area. I found out about it because a member of another knife forum mentioned it in some of her YouTube videos. I've been a member on those fora for going on 9 years.
I'm a long time fan of SAKs, and I'm still on the fence about pliers-based multi-tools. I bought an original Leatherman some time in the 90s, and never did use it much. I found that I needed the knife and screwdrivers more often than the pliers, and that it took forever to deploy them, so I went back to SAKs.
Later, Victorinox introduced the SwissTool, whose tools are all outside-accessible, and locking. Plus, the Victorinox fit and finish. So I bought it. But I don't carry it, as it is way to big and heavy for pocket carry, and I don't really like carrying stuff on my belt. My grandpa had one of the original Gerber MTs, but it was a palm-pinching piece of junk.
Back to SAKs and tactical folders for a while.
This year, I took another look at MTs and I see Leatherman has come a long way. I bought a Squirt Es4 and a Juice, and these are both quite pocketable.
Just yesterday, I took delivery of my Wenger EvoGrip S16, and I see that Wenger has come a long way too. Nice ergonomic grip, locking blade and screwdriver, but not as big as the Vics with locking blade & screwdrivers. Anyway, I think I'm still more of a SAK guy, but I see there is a home for SAK-lovers here too.
