If you spray a bit of WD-40 on a rag and polish the tool with it, then follow with a dry cloth, you'll get all the residue off easily and help reinforce the rust proofing.

My BO tools all get that treatment and I have no rust or blackened fingers. From there it seems that oil from the hands adds to this BO/oil coating that is just brilliant. I now prefer BO for this reason.

My Rebar, when I carry it I just put it in my nylon Wave sheath as I don't care for the leather one that come with it.

Have a Ripoffs co-80T holster coming, think most of my 4" Leathermans will fit in it.

I am also in. I own a BO Rebar for around 6 months now and I am really happy with it.
Compact, lightweight and a lot of usefull tools.
I have also added a pocket clip which helps me carry it all the time. :D

Hi this clip comes form a LM Kick BO.
I have also used the pivot of the Kick as it has the threaded hole where the clip bolts on.
Please keep in mind that in order to use Kick pivot , you need to grind the upper and lower side of the pivot
in order to flatten it and use it on the Rebar ;)

That's pretty good.  Never tried tissue paper, but they snip regular paper just fine as well.

I recently joined the Rebar club because I wanted a MT that I wasn't attached and could use as a work tool rather than my Wave which I have had for a long time or my SwissTool which I EDC in my bag and want to keep clean and shiny.

I don't own a Rebar, but I do own an ST300. I love it, but the weight does bother me. Do any of you own both? Is there a considerable difference after wearing them all day?

I own both. The ST300 certainly inspires confidence with its heavy duty build and simple design. I find it clunky in comparison to the Rebar, however.

The Rebar feels less solid than the ST300, but it also feels more precisely designed and made.

In my case, I am carrying the Rebar, as I've come to the conclusion that a heavy duty MT doesn't offer enough extra bang for the added weight. I recommend you get a Rebar for sure, and decide for yourself.

Hi,

I own both also.

The Rebar is compact and light enough that I can easily forget I'm wearing it. It is the de-facto choice if I don't have a reason for wearing on of my other tools (eg I generally wear my Wave + bit kit at work because I use a lot of screwdrivers).

The ST300 on the other hand I never forget I'm wearing. It isn't uncomfortable, but it's weight and bulk really let you know its there. Generally, I wear the ST300 if I'm spending a day out in the yard, helping my friend clear some land etc.

If you love the ST300 but would like something that you can wear and not know its there, the Rebar is the perfect choice.

If you want a lighter tool with more functionality, go with the Rebar. :tu:

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like I will have to eventually check one of these out. With Christmas around the corner it will have to wait. I only belt carry an mt every day during the summer months and the occasional weekend anyway.

I will have to agree with the others and say go for it :tu:  I don't own the ST300, but the Rebar is sufficient for me, and is one of my favorites.

The last few weeks I've been carrying my Rebar a lot more than my ST300, so I guess for EDC, the Rebar wins.  In fact, the Rebar is about the only tool that can make me leave my Spirit at home (which says a lot, because I really like the Spirit).

However ... I find myself reaching for the ST300 time and time again when I need a tool at home  ::).

Anyway, here are the Rebar and ST300 next to each other in some pics  ;).
