I'm strongly considering joining the Rebar club. My Vic Spirit has seemed to go onto other pastures and I need to find it's replacement.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I would totally recommend the Rebar to you.  The Rebar is a great multitool and is what I carry daily.  It will not be as refined as the Spirit but for the price the Rebar can't be beat.  I had a Wave but the pinchy pliers made me switch to the Rebar and I have not looked back.

My heart goes out to you!  It truly does.

I will tell you, from experience, the REBAR is a GREAT TOOL and a very good tool set.

Yet, I will warn you,  the REBAR is a great BLUE COLLAR tool.  And it will not fail.

Your SPIRIT however is (not giving up hope, still present), a notch fancier and always looks great, it is like having a 11 level stop on your guitar amplifier while everyone else only has 10 levels.
Or taking a spin around town in a Porsche instead of your impala.

The biggest difference is the REBAR implements are stored inside the handle.

The Spirit is outside accessible.

I have both and use both. And luv both.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thank you. I'm very disappointed my version of the Spirit I had got discontinued (butter blade) and I'm not crazy about the current prices of Spirits  :ahhh. The Rebar seems like the best bang for the buck and will fit my needs. I've been looking at a Micra to complement it and take care of scissors.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

The MICRA is a good compliment yet prices are now high.

A VIC scissors may be a better option for function and price.

I compliment mine with a COMPACT (2layer) or a Classic

Nice!

They both appear modded due to screws.

The bottom maybe more modded.

Top only two screws at plier head pivots.

How is the bottom one modded.
This THREAD is awl about pictorial content😉

Upper Rebar has slotted pivot screws only cause i changed pliers to it from old Rebar (pliers tightened when squeseed, managed later to solve it by hitting pivot on pliers) and i have broken my parse wrenches.

Other Rebar has custom saw, small bitdriver (from Wave) , medium flathead, awl, PE blade, SE blade, hacksaw, 3d phillips, large flathead (from Wingman) and file

Thanks guys! That photo took quite a bit of editing to meet the attachment size parameters.
