wishing my life away! 4-6 weeks
on: June 03, 2012, 11:48:44 AM
I sent my newly aquired (but 2nd hand) Wenger pocketgrip away for repair a couple of days ago and have just received a letter acknowledging receipt and advising it will be away for repair for 4 to 6 weeks. I can't wait to get it back (but Ill have to. 4 to 6 weeks).

The repair it needs is the locking mechanism on the pliers but I'll be interested to see how it comes back as it's scales are pretty beaten up. I'll be happy to just it back repaired though, so I can try it out. It's a weird one, but has some very useful tools on it.

Yes I do have other SAKs and (altogether now) Don't call me Shirley

The Pocketgrip is the most 'extreme' SAK I have though, and the first pliers based I've ever owned so I'm excited to get busy with it.

I have an Explorer off for repair... in theory...

I sent it off about 6 business days ago, no word, no nothing. As far as I know, the great postal monster ate it.

Don't give up hope yet Lynn. I included my email address and hoped they would email me on receipt but they sent a letter which obviously takes that much longer.

I gather the US postal service isn't held in high regard? (I always think of Newman from Seinfeld) (and shudder).

Hope you get acknowledgment soon.

Did they say if they are going to bill you something for the repair? Or is it covered by warrenty? Good luck. :tu:

I placed an order @ CountyComm a few days ago and its scheduled delivery is the 7th if you can believe that.  And they only have one shipping option and its $10 / UPS at snail's pace  >:(

Amici,
As for Victorinox service center issues, why not call just them? I have, and I remember one time when I did years ago, they were able to identify my parcel while I was still on the phone.

Cheers,
Serge

Victorinox is not in a hurry to repair our knives. I sent an Executive WITH A CHECK and it took them at least 3 weeks. What was weird was that it came from a personal address, with someone's name, not a corporate address. They replaced the scales, T&T and fixed the scissors. (which was missing the loose part)  I was a little surprised they fixed it, instead of just replacing it. It was an older Executive, and the one I got back was still a screwed scissors!

Best just to forget about it and use (or buy ;)  ) another SAK in the meanwhile.
