SwissTool lanyard hole .......
on: November 22, 2006, 02:12:39 PM
Any suggestions on how one might put a lanyard on the "RS" so it can quickly be removed when tool needs to be being used. Is there a special lanyard for the SwissTool to fit in the tools lanyard hole?

 ??? ??? ???

Hope this helps , also I use the little snap clips you get for fishing ( a bit like a little wire caribiner) . The clip in the pic is off a surefire lanyard . Sorry about the poor quality but you get the idea . Any more help just ask .

Y'know, that DOES seem like a pretty good idea. And I've seen those snap swivels in all different sizes, made with brass, stainless steel, and black finishes.

Sure buddy... just send it to me, including the SwissTool so I can see exactly how it's connected and I'll take as many pics as you like! :P

Hi All, I'm new here and my RS is on it's way from Amazon.  Any better pics of how to attach that fishing clip is appreciated.

Also, are there any 3rd party accessories for the RS?  For example, I notice the LM Wave has a belt clip accessory.  I would REALLY like that for the RS instead of having it bouncing around in my pocket as I walked along.  I'm not too into wearing it on my belt with the pouch.

Thanks for any insight.

Greetings swisstool11, and welcome to MTOrg.
I read about the great deal you got on the RS; I scored the same deal! Mine arrived yesterday, I'm still checking out all the cool features it has.

I'm not aware of any aftermarket accessories for the Swiss Tools though.  :(   A belt clip would be a handy option.

J-sews,

So you did the $49.99- (Amazon $30 credit) = $19.99 for the RS?   If this catches on they'll shut this whole thing down  8)

Yeah, I thought about a beltclip for a while, but I couldn't come up with a good method of attachment.  I've never gotten the lanyard hole idea to work for me either - too awkward a balance.  I'm anxious to see what you come up with.

Here's a lanyard I made for my Spirit.  I use shockcord for the main length, black/olive drab paracord for the round sinnets on the ends, a swivel clip on one end to clip to a belt loop, and a snap hook and swivel attached to the tool.(snap hook and swivel were given to me by a friend a while back, I don't know where the can be purchased - bait/tackle store most likely).

At the risk of getting in deep poo poo for spamming, Rotokid has a selection of clasps and colors to choose from:

Nice lanyard Stormdrane, and great pics!

(Maybe you already told us, but where did you get that sheath from?)

Thanks.  I bought the sheath from knifezilla.com a few years ago.  It's a heavyweight nylon made by Eagle USA.  They still carry them, look under the accessories link on their site.

Some new pics I just done for you

I dont usually carry this way , normally use a belt sheath but I do use this if im on the beach with my big coat on then access to the tool is easy in my coat pocket .If I remeber its a Surefire Lanyard and clip in this case but I've used other things in the past .

THREAD NECRO

I wanted to carry my Swisstool today and needed a way to easily pull it from my clc case so I searched and found this thread.  I made a small change and used dual lanyard knots ( diamond ) to secure thin para cord instead of the clip.  when the plier is in usethe knot sits between the handles perfectly.  it will be a nice feature when im on a ladder so as to not drop it.  great idea glad I found this.

Glad to see I'm not the only one bringing old threads back! :D  I was looking at user names thinking "who are some of these people?"  Makes sense now.

Thanks for  bringing this one back to life! :tu:

thanks, I wasn't sure if I should start a new thread but figured this was ok for those looking for options on lanyard attachment.
