Is that a Toureg?  Nice ride.  I have heard they feel a bit heavy, but that's a good thing when there's snow on the ground.

Gotta love Fahrvergnügen!

Still a nice vehicle.  I have always loved VW's.  That's my second highest most owned brand behind Pontiac.... and I imagine in the next few years it will take over the #1 spot as Pontiac doesn't exist anymore.

They did improve a lot in the years since the VW concern took them over. They make a great car now. :tu:

And Mr. Whippy, great looking ride.

 You got a Porsche Cayenne  for VW money!

The Porsche Cayenne is a five seat mid-size luxury crossover manufactured by the German manufacturer Porsche since 2002, with North American sales beginning in 2003. Its platform was developed by Porsche and is shared with the Volkswagen Touareg and the Audi Q7.

Just saw its a tiguan.   :D

Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover vehicle (CUV) initially built by the German automaker Auto 5000, but now built by Volkswagen, based on the PQ35 platform of the Volkswagen Golf

Nice!

Interesting trivia: according to some (Arab folk etymology), "Tuareg" translates to something along the lines of "godforsaken". I wonder how many VW Tuareg owners are aware of that... :P

Hope you have better luck than we had with the Jetta we bought... mechanically, it was fine.  The issue was the small bits; mainly trim and interiors.  All the buttons on the stereo/console broke rather easily and quickly, and things such as the upholstery, stitching, etc. didn't do very well over the long run either.  Very frustrating to experience.

We're a VW family.  My wife has had 2 old bugs and a microbus; I had an 86 GTI, we've had a Jetta, Cabrio, new GTI (2001) and now the Tiguan.

Yes, they have a few electrical quirks (many fixable by me), and the 2001 GTI had the coil problems but the driving experience and ride is worth it... At least to us.

(We're also a Honda family, so there is some reliability too  ;))

Was it a City Jetta? The lower cost City versions are made in Mexico and generally are lacking in some of the details.

In my mind if you opt for a German car, buy a German car, not a German brand made in the US or Mexico or wherever.
