Just had a look at the file on my PPP, seems like it's the same as the one on your Powerlock. Could just be down to when they were manufactured.
So anotherwords, not as good as the inferior chinese crap made today?
I noticed on the website that the Powerlock now says "Assembled in the USA" whereas my old Powerlock's box says "Made in the USA". I wondered about the components in the SOG tools.
What got me to wondering was when I read a post on a knife forum. Seems a guy had purchased a new Powerlock and promptly twisted off the Phillips head. He says SOG sent him another and the same thing happened. Now he has a third and is trying that. I've had that problem with cheapo multitool Phillips so I wondered...The problem is that with multitools you never know whether the poster actually takes care of the tool and uses common sense or whether he's broken the screwdriver trying to loosen the Phillips retaining screw on the disc of the starship Enterprise. I had a customer who's a Ranger. He was issued a Gerber Multiplier years ago and promptly broke the knife blade opening a can (why not use the can opener?!!). I would assume the rules for multitools are the same for musical instruments. The rule was that the country of primary assembly could be the marked origin. Guitars would have primary parts from Mexico, Korea, Japan and China but because the guitar was put together in the USA could be called "crafted in the USA". I don't know whether "Made" can be fudged or the parts must be wholly from the USA.
Same here. I had put my Powerlock away until a couple of days ago. I was oiling it and have been toying with the idea of EDC-ing it again. I'm probably going to remove the tool covers, and then it's a very nice MT. I do want to trade the socket drive for something else.Regards!
