Leatherman Wave Detent Nub, ball mod anyone?

My Black Tide (a BO Wave) has seen a lot of traffic over the past year and the knife detent nub is all but a shiny spot on the liner lock.

Has anyone tried to mod their detent with an actual ball bearing detent to increase the life of this tiny stamped nub?

oh...because my Wave has been so heavily modified, I cannot send it into the LM HQ for repairs, otherwise, they'd just replace the handles.

I gotta the same problem to my standard charge al...
I think the only way is to drill a 1,2mm hole in the handle.
For the charge is more easier cause i can hold off the external alluminium (or titanium) handle, but for the wave, you can drill (diam 1,2mm) both sides of the handle and press a 1,6mm ball, using a little hammer and an old 1,2mm driller point (i dont know if the word "driller point" is correct, ive got a bad english).
Here in italy is easy to find the 1,6mm balls!

I think the shipmet from italy will costs more than the stuff!
