Well here you go, some my bag and lower belt came in so my son helped me out yesterday and we did the pack to the frame, of course he wants my other one so he put it next to the project, lol

The remainder of the pieces came in today so we worked on it till my back couldnt take it any more,

Here are a couple more pic's that show some add ons, Ones a flashlight, the one on the right is what i call a germ grenade, (hand sanitizer wrapped in a king cobra knot, and lastly the bracelet with a thermometer, compass, and whistle,

these two have other add ons, the one is a finger seat belt cutter, with screwdriver, and bottle opener, now in the second photo, its a kabar, attached to the belt between the belt and frame, in the last if you look closely you can see the handle,

Lastly here is all my EDC stuff that is scattered threw out the bag, except one compartment which i kept open for picking stuff up,
But how could i forget, my little guys been asking and asking, can i have your old one PLEASE!! i never really said yes, but i guess he thinks i did, so he started making it into what i have, hes got his water bottle hooked up, his R2D2, and the inside is loaded, oh and of course he wants my patches and  paracord handle that i made,

So this is a start, i still have a few other tid bits that need fixing, like the zipper pulls if you look at my old one, youll notice that i changed them out and put reflective paracord with glow-in-the-dark tips, and one which is a whistle. needs some fine tuning, but i think its going to work out, OH, i did get the shelf, all nice, but theres got to be some way to keep it attached? and forget about taking the bag off to attach a box to the frame, after playing with the straps for over 3hrs, huh IT STAYS!  JR

What is the main pack? That looks like a Falcon.

Did a few things, added a water bottle pouch under, Worked great, everything fit, and gave me one whole compartment for anything I want, but I did some changing around today, I had another smaller pack, a maxpedition(fake) proteus, I added all my must have EDC junk to that, and left all the other, not a must but should have in the condor, the other thing I did was put clips( grimlock D rings) to the top of the condor, so when I want to, I can just attach the proteus to the condor and take off.. Just wish the proteus was ACU since everything else is, oh well. I'll take some pics and maybe have them posted later tomorrow..  JR

OK, i finally got the pic's up, so here we go..
This is everything stacked together, i still want to change a few little things but, so far this is the whole thing,

next up, the main large bag, you can see i have the canteen bag hung underneath, on top i added the grimlocks to attach the second carry bag,

what you cant see i have attached to the frame, is a small seatbelt cutter/bottle opener, and also a KaBar to the back of the belt,

Next part, the smaller bag, strap and the two end pockets,

now the front and main compartment,

A brake apart of the main,

Lastly a break down of the mini must have EDC, this goes absolutely everywhere!
Any Questions? JR

Very interesting!

That addresses my main issue with MaxPed's packs... they advertise them as being able to haul heavy and/or bulky loads, but they have no frame or suspension system whatsoever in them...     Simply doesn't make sense if you ask me.  That makes them nothing more than glorified and overpriced day-packs IMHO.  If they actually came with a real suspension system in them, then I think they'd be worth what they cost.

I completely agree with you, grant it there very nice, but there a little$$, so both bags your looking at is fake, lol except shoulder straps, frame, and whats in the last pic, the pocket pack is a max, and the note pad is a rite-in-the-rain, they were the best deals i could find, JR

No problem with trying to find a good deal... I totally understand that!   :D

I finally saw a MaxPed bag that I'm interested in, the Monsoon.  I got a hydration bladder for a Mountainsmith summiting pack I've had for about a year and a half, and I've fallen in love with having the hydration bladder in a pack.  The Monsoon can carry one, and is a single strap bag, which is what I'm most used to and prefer for EDC and biking, etc.  I honestly don't think I'll need it until next spring/summer at this point though.

Anyway, that's a great DIY solution to the great drawback of the MaxPed packs... very cool!
