Its is kinda weird how you can sit in an E.R. for 6 hours and feel totally drained. Let alone 10 hours.

Thanks guys, they sent her home, and she pretty much just the same as she went in, they took pics of here stomach and said there's a little eritation to it but no ulcer, it could be from all the throwing up that she's been doing, but she's perfectly fine thus the reason she's home, but what's all the pain from? Everything she eats causes pain, that's if she keeps it down, but yet she A-ok! I don't get it, she's literally dragging her harms on the floor to get around cause she's got no energy since she hasn't kept any food down, but that's A-ok to the doc's! Only good thing out of this it's rapid weight loss! She said she wants to go on that tv show naked and afraid! She's all set, And this was just training.. Oh well, I guess if they say she's fine then, she must be fine, but if anyone has any ideas I'm completely open to hear them?
No ulcer, everything looks perfectly fine, but, can't keep food down, as soon as she puts even the smallest amount of fluid or food down it hurts, and has both stomach and chest pains? Obviously the weakness is due to no intake, but I'm no doc, and I guess they don't even know? JR

did the doctors consider GERD and/or acid reflux at all? A couple years ago, I developed a condition that occasionally causes me some stomach/chest pain. My doc originally thought it was GERD or acid reflux, but none of the antacids that I tried helped at all (even the ultra-strength prescription variety). after some additional tests by a G.I. speSmurfpillst,, it turned out that my lower esophageal sphincter (LES) was not opening enough. (they refer to this as "incomplete relaxation of the LES".) it has never caused me to vomit, but it has definitely caused me some pain... maybe she has a more severe version of something along these lines?

really hoping your poor wife gets some answers soon.  :-\

I hope things get better JR :tu:  I don't know what it could be myself, but maybe what Breezy suggested could be an idea?  I don't get why the docs can't figure this out, but hang in there, and tell your wife I will continue to pray for her :salute:

Here's a thought you might should ask. Ask them to check her pancreas. My mom was in and out and they finally found out she had pancreatitis. She had all the same symptoms and in and out of the er. Good luck bro

 :facepalm: ah man I really can't keep up with this, idk if she's going to be going back in, her chest pains have been back for a few days and have been fluctuating between a 4-7. We figure that if it reaches a 8-9, then she's going back, only thing is that we made new friends and she works at a diff hospital, and after the last time in we said that she wasn't going back to that one, and now she knows of some where better to go, hopefully, that and with the new friends they said they would watch the kids so I could support her, cause they also have two kids around the age of our younger one and they love ours! My wife has been after me to post something on here, but it's taken me a while to grow enough hair to do so, anyway I did, and needed a real good shave after doing so, so please read the first post, thanks JR

Ah man, not again.  This is frustrating to hear, knowing how many times she's had issues with this, so I can only imagine how you guys feel.  At least you may have better luck at this other hospital where your new friends work, and it's good they'll help out with your kids as well.  Tell her she's in my prayers, and the rest of you as well :tu:

Thanks, I read her your quote and she smiled. She hasn't gone in yet, we've held off another day. The pain spiked up to a "7", but it's backed down to a "5-6" so it's manageable, but if it goes up over a "8" then were going in! JR

Well, pain spiked and we got a ride in, but this time to a diff hospital! And I'll tell you what, this place is NICE! And the freaking staff are respectable, on top of that they ran a few test, and they came back ok, but they want to run more, so they admitted her. Oh and get this, as were sitting there(well I was, she was laying) and the doc came in to explain a few things and tell us that they didn't find anything wrong, my wife asked "so since you did see anything, does that mean your sending me home"? So the doc says "did the pain go away"?  Um no, well then were going to keep looking till we find what's causing it! But I got you a room so you can rest, and well get you appointments for other tests tomorrow! Like OMG, they didn't just load her up with meds and kick her out the door! Oh and on top of that the doc said, I don't want to just keep sending you for tests, I'm calling the other hospital to have them send me over those so I can look them over! I can't believe it, so maybe this time we found the right place to go, and they might do there job, fingers crossed,,  JR

That's good news, not the fact she's in the hospital, but the fact that she's now in a hospital with docs that are willing to try to get to the bottom of her issues and not just medicate her and send her home.  I'll be praying all goes well for her :tu:

I hope so, but I did get a phone call this morning(let alone the one this morning at 2:30am to give me the room and phone#) cause she wanted to talk to the little guy before I kicked him out the door, and she's been throwing up all night and morning, but to make it worse, she hasn't had anything to eat since yesterday morning. Come to think of it, neither have I! Maybe that's why I keep hearing these funky rumbling noises :think: ,, anyway, nothing new, still hasn't had any tests, there's that noise again, I guess I should go find something to eat.. JR

Well, I got a phone call, come to find out she has Pericarditis, which is a swelling and irritation of the pericardium, the thin sac-like membrane that surrounds your heart. Pericarditis often causes chest pain and sometimes other symptoms. She's going to be put on a Rx and probably sent home tomorrow, she got her first dose just now as I was doing homework with my little guy, cause she called and bothered us :rant: !! So the Rx is suppose to cool everything down and keep anything from swelling, and so long it does so, she shouldn't have any problems, they did say that she might end up back in the hosp, but it's going to be one step at a time to figure out the dosages and stuff like that,, JR

sounds like steps in the right direction for her and your family.  Im glad to hear Docs seem to have a "what" is going on now just a matter of "how" to resolve this for her.

Well the doc released her and gave her a Rx for this one med, you gotta take like five a day but even better it's suppose to be only like $5 for like 500 pills, so after she got out we went to the pharmacy to turn in the Rx and they say they no longer make the Rx? Like what? But rather then this one you can take this, rather then having to take like five a day you only take one, ok what's the price, oh only $200 for 30! Say what? So were trying to figure everything out and waiting for the doc to call back, just a peachy day! JR
