So what's your very first multi which made you fall in love with it & its brothers? :D  Do you still have it? Do you have any pictures of it? :D

My first ever MT is LM Style CS - not really beloved, but it set the beginning of my interest/love for MTs :D I got it last year from a friend, so it still looks like brand new.

My first was a Gerber Multiplier, the original Mr. Pinchy. Have been using it and the MP 600 ever since (for teh last 16 years). But the addiction began not until i signed in here, i guess.

Leatherman Micra for me. I wasn't sure if they were any good so I bought a small one. I liked it so much I went back the next day and bought a PST II. I gave the Micra to my girlfriend at the time and a room mate eventually stole my PST II along with the rest of my truck.

My first was a BO MP400 back in 04 but I didn't use it a whole lot. I got a Wave last summer and I got the fever.  I now have 3 additional LM and 2 additional Gerbers since then. This is a dangerous addiction.

My first tool was a ToolZall "Cooperman" Leatherman PST copy. I still have it and love it. It wasn't as well-made as the Leatherman (its handles close a bit "skewed" by about 1/2mm), but has an incredibly sharp knife and is very strong. It initiated my love/irritation with Bear Jaws.

LM Supertool.  1993.  (I also liked the Gerber Multi-Pliers but I gave that one to my wife, she gave me the Supertool.)

My first MT was a Gerber Suspension. It was only a carry tool to pull pins out of burlap covered root balls. No love for it really. It was the ST300 that I fell in love with. I like the size and the pliers. The ST was followed by the Skeletool which got me hooked to collecting MT's. The ergo's on the skele suck but its such a cool looking tool.

I bought a micra in the 90s, but cant say I loved it.  I bought a wave in the 2002 and I liked it alot and thought the engineering and design were cool, but i cant say i loved it either.  It would have to be the swisstool RS that I first loved, and fueled me buying more swisstools and MTs.

SOG Crosscut in the mid 90's was my first MT, and I loved it. I recently gave it away after replacing it with another Crosscut.

But that didn't really start my '-holism'. I tried a few cheapo full-size MTs, and was kind of meh about them, until I coughed up the money and got a SOG Powerlock. That was rapidly traded for a Wave, and that really picked things up. Right after the trade for the Wave, I joined the boards here.

Then there was the whole peer-pressure 'you need SAKs' thing. Now I'm just a sad bum lying in the gutter, begging for MTs, and wallowing in my own filth.

Mine was my wave my dad gave to me in 98 for my 28th birthday, lots know my story with tis MT, well quick re-cap, sold it around 4 years ago and then i decided i wanted it back and the guy let me have it back, after a while i wanted a few things sorted on it as wobbly etc so sent it to whitby, they could not do the work as didnt not have the old parts so said about sending me a new one, i decided to have it back , but then sent it back for replacement, some woul say i was nuts but no one on here has gone through the situation ive gone through with my dad so it held no sentimental attachment, do i miss it yes would i get another HHmm no as ive had better MT's since, although i was offered one recently in a trade and was tempted but i thought why go backwards as i really want to try new MT's this year and so far ive tried ive never had before, anyway here is a pic of my old wave,  :tu:

My first love was my original Supertool, used and abused that for a good few years so it has more than earned it's retirement.

I did in fact have a no-brand adjustable spanner/pliers combo thing* that was actually not bad, but I lost it and decided to buy the Supertool to replace it.  That one doesn't count though as I never 'loved' it all that much. :D

Forty years ago for X-mas, I got the biggest smurfing Wenger my dad could find in the shop.   8)

As a little boy I proudly carried in my pocket chained to my belt - and I still managed to lose it!  :(

Since that day it's Victorinox all the way.  :D

I had a pretty decent knife, SAK, SAk style collection at a very early age, as people knew I liked them. Multitools were unknown in them days...

Juice CS4. I know some people don't like them, but I still think it's a great tool.

My first proper MT was a Leatherman PSTII wich my father gave me before I went off to the Army 10 years ago. I kept it in the top left pocket of my molle west next to my maglite and it never let me down. I was stationed at 70 degrees north watching the russian border, and Im surprised that I did not break it during the winter when we had long spells of -30C when it got cold and hot and cold and hot all the time. After I left the army it followed me to college where it was my primary tool next to my hammer and a large phillips screwdriver for years.
It was my only MT until a a couple of years a go when I got my first SAK and was hooked. Then I found you guys... Now I have more MT's than any normal person can rationalize the need for, and more on the way.
The PSTII is now retired to my collection. I only take it out now and then to oil it and think about my army days.

my first MT was a PST that my parents gave me back in 1995 when I was still in Boy Scouts.  that tool got plenty of use on numerous Scout outings.  :tu:  I still have it today, but it has been retired and given a place of honor in my collection.  :)

however, the one that really got me hooked was my second MT -- a Leatherman Charge Ti that I got in 2004, shortly after the Charge models were introduced.  it definitely got me hooked, and it's still my favorite MT to this day.  :D

My first "real" MT was an original Mr. Pinchy, which I still have.  I got it with my employee discount at the outdoors/sporting good store I was working at back when I first started college.

Before that, I worked as a bike messenger in San Francisco, and had a Vic Ranger that I kept in my messenger bag.  That knife came in handy all the time back then, and when I was riding recreationally, off-road.  (Who am I kidding... as a bike messenger, my job was my recreation!)

My very first tool of any kind was all the way back when I was 6 or 7... my grandfather gave me a little two blade slippie... I don't remember for sure what brand it was, something like a Schrade, or a Case.  I'm pretty sure I ended up losing it, but about a year later, an aunt of mine went on a vacation in Canada (hosers, eh?) and brought back a small single blade slippy for me, with a picture of an RCMP mountie on the sides.

Bought myself a Leatherman Supertool back in '94 and fell in love with it right away ...  :dd:

I used to carry it with me all the time, at school, when I went out to parties in the weekend, camping ...  that ST was my EDC untill I got myself a Leatherman Wave in 2003.  In fact, between '94 and 2010 I only bought 4 tools, first my ST, 2 years later a Gerber Multiplier, in 2003 my Wave and in 2007 a Skeletool CX.  Until I found this place in 2010 ...  ::)

In the beginning, I only bought Leatherman tools (except one Gerber), the SAK virus only got me about a year ago, not counting the fake (piece of crap) SAK I got from my dad around '85 (haven't seen this one since we've moved from our previous home to this one, but it's here somewhere ...  ::)).

Here's a pic from my first multitool (the original ST) accompanied by two of it's younger bodybuilding brothers  ;).

Hmm, while I received a Victorinox Vagabond as a kid, followed by a BSA Tinker for Cub Scouts, my first multitool was an Ohio Forge PST-knockoff, which I still have.  I never really used it for anything, as it paled in comparison to my Tinker, but I did eventually get either a Kick and Micra combo pack or a Juice Kf4 (one followed by the other, I forget the order), which started the madness. XD

Hi,

My madness was started by the Bucktool.  Liked the grip on this better than the PST.  Well, some hundreds of Leatherman tools, knives, lights, etc, here I am today.  Still have a few Bucktools, but Leatherman is what my collection is based upon.

Cheers - Joe

What started me was the Hobo Pocket knife.  You know the one with a spoon and fork.  My grandfather had one and it was my favorite knife to use.  I found a new in the box one some years back and have charished it ever sense.

Letherman PST, back in 1985, before it was even called a "Leatherman". They weren't even called multitools back then. The Cabelas catalog called it a Pocket Survival Tool.

Anyhow, I still have it, still love it. :salute:
