There are many other companies selling SRM Enlan etc products, made to their specificaions, like buck, spyderco... Jekostas is good at pointing them out.

The funny thing for me is that no company has, so far, sold the most popular (I think) SRMs the 710 and 763 as their own.

They probably fear the wrath of knife fanboyz too much to sell the 710.  :D

The 710 is a brilliant knife, one that everyone that likes knives should own, simply as proof positive that the Chinese know what they're doing.

Anyways, in terms of SRM and Enlan, this is actually a little different from what they've done in the past.  SRM, for example, will enter in to an agreement to produce x number of knives for a certain design, but also the rights to make and sell the knives in China.  The versions for the Chinese market will be slightly different, in terms of blade finishes, handle finishes and/or slight size changes so the parts can't be used for warranty request from CRKT, Buck, Spyderco etc.

For example, the SRM 702 is definitely based on the CRKT Drifter, but ever so slightly modified.

For curiosity's sake, I bought a few of those Sanrenmu/Enlan/Inron/Bee knives, figuring I'll use 'em as beaters and/or loaners.

THe fit & finish frankly surprised me. Years past, the cheap Chinese knives wee either sturdy but crude (think M-Tech), or well-fitted but a bit flimsy (think Taylor-manufactured Schrades). This new generation are stout *and* well-crafted.

My main beef with them is, they're heavy. They tend to use fairly thin stainless steel where the original Western knives use titanium, or fairly thick stainless liners and thinnish G-10 rather than stainless liners and thicker G-10. One of my favorites is an "Inron"-branded clone of a Hinderer XM-24, but the handle feels very thin compared to a real Hinderer, yet it's heavy, too.

Oh, and the Axis Lock clones all seem to have very stiff omega springs compared to Benchmades.

My other fave is an Enlan/Bee EL04-HCT, with 3D-sculpted, multi-color green G-10 scales and Axis lock. Feels great in the hand, useful blade shape, but seems awful heavy for it's size.
