Olight EOS I3 turning on /w SAK Signature Lite
on: September 08, 2012, 12:25:06 AM
At first it was a mystery to me. What happens is that my keychain light has a tendency to turn on. It doesn't actually stay on it just sort of flickers..

Anyway, it took a while to figure out what caused it because I have quite a bit of tools on the keychain, but I seem to have singled it out to the SAK. When it is in contact with my Victorinox Signature Lite quite "tightly" it seems to happen. Since both have batteries... maybe there is something going on with magnetic fields. I do think that it shouldn't be happening. Any guesses why and how to prevent it other than keeping the tools apart?

Try to unscrew I3's head a little more - I'm quite sure, that it will prevent such a behavior.

May be kiak's right. I had a similar experience with my Fenix E01- when the head is only very little unscrewed, just as much as to turn the flashlight off, when you press it A LITTLE with your fingers, it turns on immediately. Try unscrewing it a little more, indeed?

First thing I tried, but I'm 100% sure it's not the problem. I unscrewed it all the way and it was still happening :(

Can you make some kind of video to show us what happens? It is very interesting.

I'll try, it is kind of random though.. as in, it doesn't happen all the time. Pretty much when I don't expect it. Anyway, I'll try to replicate it and then put it on video.
