Interesting corkscrew on Yeoman
on: September 26, 2012, 07:27:59 PM
I finally bought an original Yeoman on eBay.  The corkscrew does not have the typical groove that was present in the older style corkscrews, but it has a very very fine line that follows the same path where a groove would be located.  The line is barely visible, but can be felt when I run my fingernail across it. I've  got a Scientist with the traditional groove, and the groove on the Yeoman starts and stops in the same area as the large groove on the Scientist.  I have not found a similar groove in any of my other SAK.

That's typical of an early-mid 1990s knife like the Yeoman. Most of the knives from this era have the same "seamed" corkscrew as I call it. It disappears by the late 1990s/early 2000s.

Great, thanks!  I knew someone would know something about it.
