Still playing around with converting "normal" SAKs to alox type construction.

Latest effort used up a blades layer and openers layer from the "experiment supplies" box.

Large blade is a locker, but must have had a broken tip or someone wanted a non-stabby blade because it has a rounded tip like a "My First Vic'".

Getting better with the water ripples effect, in the right light this one almost looks wet.

This is some 7075-T6 alloy sheet, it is about 3x harder than normal Aluminium, so it polishes up real nice. I have a piece about big enough for a dozen scales, maybe a couple more. Wish I had pulled more out of the scrap bin (and Ti sheet) before I left my last job

I do have a 5" x 6 1/2" piece of 3/4' 7075-T651 plate that if I could get access to a power hacksaw I would like to take a few 100 thou slices off. even if as much would end up in swarf as I got usable material.

Think I might have another look around at Mill/Drills again, would be a handy little jigger for making a few bits and pieces.

I'm currently working on some Titanium scales for a Wenger Esquire with this ripples effect, but it is a LOT slower going grinding the Ti sheet and then it takes about an hour to polish each one, a classic would be roughly the same, the slight difference in size would make next to no difference in work.

Once they are polished up I'll anodize them blue which should look nice and be a bit tougher.

I'll throw it on my keys as a test mule and see how they stand up to pocket wear. Should be pretty good, I have a piece of 3/16" Ti rod that I have made into a marlin spike and that is polished and anodized and it gets a pretty hard life but no scratches on it.
