Letter from Leatherman
on: March 03, 2008, 08:05:49 PM
So, I get today's mail and there was a envelope from Leatherman, but the thing is, there's nothing in it.  The letter is open.   It's like someone either took it out, or it fell out.

The thing is, I have no idea how they got my address.  I've never written them anything.  This is totally out of the blue.

I wonder what was in it?

Hmmm, seems odd   Have you used their warranty service lately, or in the past for that matter? Or it could be that you signed up to there email updates about products and they are actually sending you some adverts/brochures.

Was it a big yellow envelope? I got a 2008 product catalog from them. Maybe someone took yours.

Send them an email with your address titled "Catalog Request". They won't send you a reply back but in a few weeks a catalog will show up.

This also works with ToolLogic and SOG for physical catalogs. Victorinox, Wenger, and Gerber will reply with a PDF catalog.

Isn't an empty envelope one of those Mafia things?  I'd get a remote car starter installed if I were you...   :ahhh

It's just a regular size white envelope - letter size.  I don't know how they got my address.  The only thing I can think of is they got it from when my wife bought my Skeletool from Amazon.  But why would they give Leatherman my address??

Sent the request for it yesterday (mktg@leatherman.com) and got this message today:

Thank you for contacting Leatherman Tool Group, Inc.  I would be happy to send you a catalog of our products.  A catalog will go out in the mail today.

Sincerely,

Thanks Spoonrobot for the idea. :) :)

You're welcome!

I'm not sure if this has been a standard thing over the years. Until 2008 I've never heard of anyone other than dealers getting a Leatherman catalog. If I had known it was that easy I would have started requesting one years ago.

It might be getting dinged by thier spam system. If you have another email you might want to try that one, I've used both Hotmail and Gmail to good effect when emailing Leatherman.

I can forward your email through my Gmail account if you want.

Or perhaps their reply is getting dinged by your spam filter. I've had that happen before.

Or maybe it was those things you said about them when you got drunk at the last company picnic.  They were very hurtful you know! :P

I have the latest brochure- I'll scan it and post it shortly for folks who want to look at it.
