I finally bought an original Yeoman on eBay. The corkscrew does not have the typical groove that was present in the older style corkscrews, but it has a very very fine line that follows the same path where a groove would be located. The line is barely visible, but can be felt when I run my fingernail across it. I've got a Scientist with the traditional groove, and the groove on the Yeoman starts and stops in the same area as the large groove on the Scientist. I have not found a similar groove in any of my other SAK.
