EDCF down

EDCF has been down for the better half of the day now. As nothing like that was anounced I browsed a bit and found Jon/owner posting on xeroforums that the hosting service messed up and they/the hosting service restored the old backup back from March. :facepalm:  sounds a lot like some :serverloft: we knew. There was apparently a scare that all data could have been lost but latest updates say the data is safe. I hope our backups are better stored (do we have backups of our backups), I'd hate to see some smurf fliping the wrong switch or pressing a wrong button and all our wonderfull data geting lost. (think CPF yeaar or so ago :aaah )

I noticed it was down too. I though jon might finally be on the streets like hes been saying for yrs.

Thanks for the info. I emailed him using the forum store contact link. To summarize, he basically said he was working on it, and stop emailing him. :D

We handle backups pretty carefully nowadays following our issues with our old host company.  Things like this are pretty well always fixable, it just takes time.  I'm sure he'll be back up and running as soon as he can.

Our backups are pretty safe at the new host, and I believe our downtime for whatever reason would be much less than a day with them. Once I get some downtime (in about 3 weeks) I've been planning a new off site backup solution as well.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.
