Ash, you should know us better by now. :D We here like good tools and knives, no matter where they were made. And Sanrenmu, Bee, Enlan, ... have quite a decent following around here. I personally have about a dozen of them and like them all. Great bang for the buck. I've had better experience with them then with some brand named knives. I've given away quite a few SRM 710s to people and they all like it. My mom actually carries one of those in her purse. :D

Yep, Ash, I started off with trash Chinese folders.  That's why I was so hesitant about getting the ones I posted.  If I had gotten a decent knife at first I wouldn't have put off getting an Enlan, SRM, or Ganzo nearly as long as I did.  Really the knives that started to change my point of view were the imported Buck slipjoints.  Great EDC knives, they showed me what Chinese manufacturers were capable of.  The 385 muskrat is still a favorite of mine even after adding Case, GEC, etc into the family.  :tu:

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm loving Enlan knives all of a sudden.  :)  First Gerber, then Wenger, and now this.....  ::)  Got two more today, nelly1974's China folder collection has been decimated!  Well, not decimated, it's just relocated north a bit.....  ;)  First up is the EL02b.

G10 handles, 8Cr13Mov steel, and it's my first axis lock knife.  :tu:  I like the lock, ambidextrous controls are always a plus for us lefties.  The blade has a stonewashed finish, VERY nicely done.

All in all, a very nice knife, well-made as usual.  The other one today is another L01, this time with G10 handles.

I fell in love with my first L01, and this one doesn't disappoint either.  The G10 makes this a bit slimmer, but still solid as hell.  :tu: Micarta on the left, G10 on the right....

So there's the latest installment!  Anyone else got some to share?  Rough Riders, a favorite Buck slippie (Nelson  :pok: ) , an Enlan I don't have you want to torture me with?  :ahhh

Three other knives of mine that I know were made in China.  My two SRM's and a little Byrd.

Also my Byrd Tern is Chinese made, it's without a doubt one of my favourite pocket knives.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

A couple of slightly better shots of my 710, no idea where my camera is right now so I'm shooting with my phone right now and it shows.  The SRM knives I have are just mindbogglingly good for the money, if you paid three times as much I still don't think you'd feel hard done by. :tu:

The latest family photo.  :)

Left column - two Enlan L01 Micarta, L01 G10, two Enlan El02, two Enlan El01
Right column - Ganzo G704, Enlan El08, two Inron MY803, Ganzo G710, SRM 763.

My favorite?  The G10 L01.  Just a great knife overall.  I've been very impressed with it.  The Ganzo G704 is in second place.  All of these are great folders for the money though.  I'm comfortable relying on any of them during the day.  :tu:

What do you think of the coating on the black EL01? Might be hard to tell if you havent (ab)used it much yet, but does it look like it'll hold up a while or wear off quickly?

It's held up very well.  :tu:  It's definitely seen use, but not abuse.  So far the coating hasn't been affected at all.

That's nice to hear. :)

I've always thought black coating looks nice.. at least until it starts wearing off.. then I might just as well have started with a plain blade. :)

I am impressed.

Although I try to buy American, I have had zero issues with my Chinese knives.  This joyful thread has caused me to rethink how I make my future purchases.

I bought an Enlan EL-01 for a relative this Christmas, make me want to get one for myself as well. Impressive knife tbh. :)

Warning: Buying Chinese knives like this Sanrenmu 710 will make you question whether you really need to spend a fortune for a good knife:

I agree 100%.  :)  Still haven't gotten a 710 yet.....  My Ganzo 704 has become a true favorite.  :tu:

Never tried a Ganzo or Enlan (unless it was rebranded  ) and the only Sanrenmu I own is the H02 due to my avoidance of liner/frame locks. I'm still very happy with my two Byrd Slipits (Tern & Wings) and with my CRKT Edgie

These days I find myself comparing all potential knife purchases with these three Chinese folders, and as a result ... I've hardly bought any. I know there will be very few knives that would actually win pocket time over these three. I actually bought my first custom folder very recently, and I REALLY like it ... but keep putting one of the cheapies in my pocket
