ANOTHER new maglite
on: October 23, 2012, 04:52:04 AM
Maglite just posted this on faceook 3 hours ago

crowned bezel: http://www.maglite.com/maglite_magtac_crowned_bezel_LED.asp

normal: http://www.maglite.com/maglite_magtac_plain_bezel_LED.asp

specs: Length: 5.195" (131.95 mm)
Barrel Diameter: 1.050" (26.67 mm)
Head Diameter: 1.050" (26.67 mm)
Weight with batteries: 4.8 oz. (136 g)
Batteries Required: (2) CR123 batteries (included)

I really like the new direction maglite is going in. High power LED flashlights that are still as bulletproof (so far) as the old incan lights. Not a big fan of CR123's though. Not cheap and can vent with a flame which is sounds downright scary (luckly its never happened to me). This new light might just put my county comm load on hold for a while. Opinions on mags new 310 lumen light?

Thanks for posting the new maglight'S muLti jack

It look's like a nice light the only thing I don't like about it is their's no medium.  One has a power save mood"low" and the other storbe.

I wonder of the beam focus is the same as the old style Mag light or Fixed like most lights?

From what I can see it looks like it was based off of the xl50 xl100 xl200 which was fixed, but it also says "Thanks to a tailcap switch, it turns on and off without changing the beam’s focal setting." Which I assume means it can focus   I wonder about the clip, it looks like its made of plastic?

I have a Maglite Pro+.  I love that light.  It has become my favorite work light.  Extremely long run times. Solid, tough as nails construction.  Beautiful chip and dent resistant finish.  Very bright (and two levels available).

Yes it's a twisty but it's easily manipulated with one hand.

Maglite has made a huge comeback. :)
