Wont they have an unfair advantage if they're giants?

My smurfing team can't even play .500 ball, let alone win two pennants in three years.  :facepalm:  Since they're not the Phillies or Braves, Go Giants!  :salute:

Tom, I feel your pain... it's a hard time to be a Mets fan...  I remember when a "good" season for the Giants was simply finishing ahead of the Bums...  those were the days!  NL pride, brother!  NL pride!!!

Kirk, yeah, well, with all the dirty stuff that comes out of the gloves of the Tiger's pitching staff in the past (cough... Kenny... cough... Rogers... cough... cough...) it should be just about even!

dks: there's always gotta be a smart-aleck...  ::)

Cap... yeah, I know... I have to admit, I do have a bit of a soft spot for the A's because they do such a great job of managing their team on a shoestring budget, and how they've built a fantastic farm system.  But, at the same time, I can't help but say...  Impure baseball!!! Dump the DH!!!  Pitcher's gotta bat!!! :D

Yeah, it hasn't been the best decade...  :)  Can't accuse me of being a bandwagon baseball fan when you're saying "wait 'till next year!" the day after pitchers and catchers report.  :P  As for NL pride, I always root for the senior circuit unless Philly or Atlanta are in.  If a Series is a nightmare matchup like Yankees-Phillies, I root for a natural disaster to strike the stadium.....  >:D

I gotta say... as much as I hate the Dodgers, and I never thought I'd find myself saying this, I hate the Yankee$ just as much.  It's not even the fact they've basically bought every title they have... to be perfectly honest, it's the Steinbrenner's that I can't stand.

Too bad it wasn't the Rangers or Pirates. I guess I can just dream and reminisce about the "We are family" days.

That was impressive, watching Verlander get shelled like that!  Zito looked great.  What's with the Freak coming out of the 'pen though?  Whatever, it works.  Go Giants!  :salute:

Timmah has had a rough season... I think he's been dealing with some issues, either psychological or physical, that have thrown his timing and/or mechanics off.  Not sure 'bout that though, cause I haven't found much of anything on it in the news.

I think a part of it is that the Giants have been using a 4 man rotation for the NLCS and the WS.  They're carrying an extra pitcher and have dropped a position player.  I'm thinking Bochy's plan is that he can move Timmah into the rotation should one of the four starters be injured.

I've never been much of a baseball fan, but my wife is a Tigers fan.  I have a feeling that she is going to be disappointed again after this game.

Yeah, how 'bout them Giants?  Going up 23-0 in the first half and almost blowing it against the Cowboys?  Oh, those are the FOOTBALL Giants..... Hey, they both played at the Polo Grounds at one time..  :)  Today I was at my parents for dinner, and my stepfather's father was there.  He's a Giants fan, followed them in NY and still goes to SF once a year to see a home game.  He's one happy man at the moment.  :tu:

One nice thing about knowing I didn't have to work today is that I could stay up and watch the whole game.  Congrats to the San Francisco Giants!  :cheers:  Wow, three years in a row of NL Series winners - isn't that a sign of the End Times? Or is that a Mets-Cubs pennant series?  :think:

I think the AL just needs to get off their butts and win an All-Star game to get home field advantage. Oh yeah, and maybe a team that can contend in the World Series.

Thanks guys!  And I am enjoying it.   :tu:  As I said, I remember when (back in the 80's and early 90's) when a good season was just to finish ahead of the Dodgers.   :whistle:

As for the current NL dominance, the answer is simple; the DH!  It waters down the offense of an AL team when they play in an NL park, and improves the offense for the NL team.  It's that simple.

Hmm... maybe I shouldn't be complaining that MLB needs to dump the DH after all...   :whistle:
