Finally Completed a VERY Rare Set !!(pic heavy)

The other day I received a SOG I thought I would never own & in doing so completed a set of 4 tools I also thought I would never complete. I now own all 4 coloured Original made in Japan SOG MICRO TOOLCLIPS. I got this red Micro Toolclip from a buddy here on MTO who spotted it for sale on US Ebay  .




From top & yes they do have names these 'special' colours  .Black,,Emergency Yellow,Outdoor Green & finally the latest & best name  Swiss Red  & I thought it was the Italians that had a monopoly on Red .The original SOG Micro Toolclips were released in 1991 & were made in Seki Japan. Black is easily the most common type made with the green,yellow & red ones being very rare

That is the NEW model, not Mat's original model.

Nope all good mate  . That there is the 'New' Micro Toolclip I think the plan was for it to move from SOG's product line over too the Tool Logic's(brand is owned by SOG) range  . The 'new' Micro Toolclip was not made to the same standard as the original & seems to have dropped off the radar completely  not sure if it will reappear as a Tool Logic MT down the track

SOG initially announced the New Micro as a SOG tool before purchasing Tool Logic.  Then between the first run of Micros being ordered and received, SOG purchased Tool Logic and the decision was made to rebrand them as Tool Logic tools, feeling they were a better fit with the Tool Logic line.

Sales of the second generation Micro have been so poor and the quality so inconsistent that I don't believe an actual run of Tool Logic branded Micros were ever made.  They were discontinued before they existed.

With the history lesson out of the way, congratulations Mat!  I'm super jealous as I only have a black one!
