Rotokid?
on: September 25, 2012, 10:59:51 AM
This April, I contacted Rotokid about some parts for a mod I had in mind.

two weeks between a question and an answer, as a basis.

Slow, but I think he does not has selling tools as a job, so I couldn't complain.

On June, I paid -he had been very kind and cheap, it was a deal.

On July the 12th he shipped.

Nothing arrived.

The firsts of september I asked for some news. He made me happy saying he would ship again.
I asked to pay for a tracking service, apparently unavailable.

Then, I asked news about shipping, info, and so on

Since then, nothing. I asked again last week, but...

Is it usual this time with him, so slow answering?

Am I the first to wait six months for a deal?

I've never dealt with him to be honest, but I was considering getting some bits in soon. I'll be interested to hear how this goes  :salute:

Howdy All,
I am the first one to admit that international shipping is not reliable at all in my experience. Not only to what might consider an out of the way country either. Recently it took three attempts to get an order to a gentleman in Paris France. Our postal system does not offer tracking on international priority shipping any longer. I have been fighting with what is best for the business for awhile. I do not think I should be like so many others and say "if you aren't in America I won't ship to you" however on a few occasions it has cost as much as 4 times the original sale price to get a product in a customers hands. In terms of domestic shipping there are occasional problems but not nearly on the same level as International. I also will hold up my hand and say I am not infallible and sometimes is due to a mistake on my part. What I can promise without reservation is that if you place an order and there is a problem I will always go to any lengths possible to make it right.
Sincerely,
Rotokid

Rotokid, mine was not a complain about your business or your service.

I am grateful for the effort you are putting in shipping at the best price, and OFFERING ME A REPLACEMENT free of charges -and I insist to pay the difference in shipping.
I also appreciate your efforts versus unefficient postal system. Italian one is one of the worst, I suppose, and, believe me, I really understand your frustration.
I was not addressing ANY mistake on your part, and I saw the efforts You made for satisfying a wannabe modder :)

My only concern is about the gap between answers, the slowness (is it a word? excuse my english) of communication, that sometime made me think I had been forgotten. My bad. Now I know better.

I hope to be kept posted, that's all.

Thank you again,

               Simone

I also appreciate that you are willing to reship the order! I understand that international shipping may not always be reliable!

Howdy,
I do very much appreciate all of you no matter where in the world you might be found. It is also good to hear the things I need to work on to provide better service, prices, and products. I am not in anyway upset with you guys at all all of my frustration is based on the shipping services of some of the largest companies in the world and the issues they present to small businesses. Then again when we really look at what it takes to get a package anywhere in the world when they deal with millions of them maybe I shouldn't be so frustrated.
Thanks,
Tom

Two months after his last offer to ship again, promptly accpted, and one after my last question "did you actually ship, after all?"

I have no parts, and no answer.

The parts? It can happen. Two unlucky shippings. Goodbye to my money, I have spent more for less.

No answer? It is only bad customer care, no matter how little, unimportant and far your customer is.

I am not satysfied at all.

I gave rotokid the benefit of the doubt, now I can no more.

Sorry to be leaving a bad feedback, but I have to, for the benefit of other buyers.

Packages from abroad going astray in Italy ?  I've read that it happens far more often than it should and may not be the fault of the shipper.  In fact I've noticed that a lot of eBay sellers either won't ship to Italy at all, or if they do they insist on (expensive) tracked courier service.

But no communications at all for a month ?  That is under his control and looks bad from where I'm sitting.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm certain Tom doesn't want this well known so I won't go into detail but I feel it very important to mention that he does have some very serious medical problems that can put him out of commission for an extended period if time with little or no notice.

I have been working with Tom for many years and I know he is very frustrated by this and he hates leaving people hanging but is it absolutely not his fault.

that's what I am saying: no blame for the loss(es?), I offered to pay a tracking shipping because of that. I usually buy on ebay, I'm around the two hundred packets sent via ebay alone, and luckily I've "been lost" just three packets (one other was from this forum, a giveaway some years ago: I am not lucky with knives :-P), but I know what people around the world think of italian post service -and they are usually right-.

The only blame I was pushing was for the two months silence, that does not good to a seller.

Now I read Grant's news about Rotokid's health, and I am sorry for that -truly. I wish him the best.

Again, I am sad to say what I say: two months of silence, with no notice about a deal that is/was going on since April, leaves me frustrated.

Mine was an update about an ongoing problem not yet solved, or solved in a way that leaves me bitter in my mouth, also because the fault is not on the seller's will.

I hope that my bad english lets me explain what I am bitter for, and that I have NEVER wanted to express judgement on the person, just on the business.

On october 31st,

Rotokid told himself sorry for the long delay and asked  to the end of the week to find a better shipping option or send a refund.

The same day, my answer was:

Just let me know what you decide.
I just need a shipping that has got a tracking number: once it exits USA, it will be tracked in mine, usually.
I've been sents rings, electronic apparates, and so on, with just an EMS RT********US.

Again, let me just know your decision.

Thank you.

I am waiting to know, ATP.

(I don't know if I stressed enough I was willing to pay the difference, here, but it was told again and again since april)

Ok, then.

The last message (with "Please gve me to the end of the week") from Rotokid was sent on Halloween.

Now I have to ask -here and via PM- for a refund. Sadly, given the lack of communication, I cannot no more earthly believe that a first shipment was actually sent.

I have waited more for communication than for actual parcels for a job I intended to do in April/May.

Shortly I will ask for the same parts in the due section, be prepared.
