Olight i3 EOS Flashlight
on: November 25, 2012, 12:52:54 PM
I’ve decided to share my thoughts on the 1x AAA keychain Olight i3 light, too :D I’ve had my first one for almost three months and several days ago I received my second one, which already speaks about my opinion on them :D Anyway: I love them.

Why? Well, this flashlight was my first flashlight with whoooole (yeah) three modes. It’s never had any problems whatsoever although I use and abuse it daily. It has three modes starting from low, through medium to high. I’ve found the low mode rrrrealllly useful at night or in the evenings when your eyes have got accustomed to the darkness. The higher modes just blind me. I do use the second mode too and rarely the highest one. They’re 2.5, 20, 70 lumens. On rare occasions I’d love to jump immediately to the highest mode, but this is so rarely that I consider it a minor inconvenience that I have to circle to the other two modes to get to the 70 lumens.

It can tailstand and is VERY stable. Its clip also serves as the best ever antiroll mechanism. Now, once I’ve got to the clip, I can talk for ages. In the beginning I thought I’d remove the clip (yes, we have the possibility), but after a while I thought a pocket clip is the best invention in the world :D For me, personally, it’s very convenient in the summer when my girly clothes don’t have that many pockets and I can only envy the guys and their cargo shorts… lol. As I use the Olight at night all the time, I even sleep with it clipped to my T-shirt, lol. Then I know I have a light at hand all the time :D The screws of the clip will at times get loose and the clip will start moving around, but that’s why Olight provide you with a special tool in the package. Do NOT overtorque the screws though….  made this mistake and I think I … screwed up the screws or the holes – now no matter how much I screw the screws, they never get properly tight. On my other Olight, though, the clip was EXTREMELY tight so it was difficult to clip to pockets. I removed the clip and what was my surprise to see that the screws of the second Olight were much longer than the screws of my first Olight. %) Then I decided to play, used the longer screws for the first Olight with the broken clip and it got perfect. Used the shorter screws for the second Olight and the clip wasn’t uncomfortably tight anymore.

It also has two holes and a split ring for you to attach the flashlight to your keychain. I didn’t carry my first one there as I was afraid it would get scratched, but now that I received my second one, I have one Olight on my keys, too :D

It came lubed and in perfect condition. It came with a Duracell battery, so I could open the packaging, insert the battery and use it immediately. It came with a split-ring and two spare o-rings aaand with the tool for the clip. A nice set, I must say.

It’s so far my favourite keychain size flashlight. It feels sturdy and reliable and comes in really cool colours. I have a blue & purple ones so far….. I don’t have anything bad to say about it, not a single negative thought. Even the colour hasn’t started fading or anything. My fenix E01 started showing wear faster.

Bought this one for $21.40 shipped.

Thanks for the update!

I've also been very happy with mine and have been recommending it when people ask. And I just ordered 2 more to give as gifts.
