I'm sorry for your loss as well. I love Hofners, and Deans are very underrated guitars which are coming into their own of late. That Hofner strat was a babydoll. I don't have any of my stuff insured either since an agent gave me a really nasty premium quote. Like health insurance, I trust to luck... :(

I was bummed a bit when Stew-Mac dropped many of their electric kit products. They got rid of most if not all of their bass bodies just when I was wanting to build one. I think those 2/3's were an attempt at a Valley Arts-type guitar. I'd like to have had one as well. The shorter scale length makes for easy playing...

Bill.

Fortunately the Hofner survived- my father still plays it when the mood strikes him.

The only amp I have left is one of those teeny Marshall practice stacks, but that's also with my father since I don't really play anything anymore.

I think I saw Nigel Tufnel play one of those on stage a few years ago. He used to schlep  the new Marshall stuff whenever they'd introduce it.

Not when you mic it up and play through a full stack!!!

That sucks about your guitars Def.    It hurts to lose the good ones.

My Dad made the mistake of giving me his '56 Strat that he bought new and kept under the bed.    The thing might have had 20 hours playtime on it.

Tweed case, tweed Deluxe amp and everyhing.     I decided I was going to sell everything i owned in college and live lean for a while and I let it go.   I got good money for it at the time, but I've seen several go for over 75K that were not even close to as nice.

I kept the strap.   Its all I have left of it naside from a polaroid.   Moral of the story???

DON'T GIVE YOUR KIDS Colorful Enunciation UNTIL THEY ARE AT LEAST 40!!!
