I'm wearing prescription glasses, both regular and sunglasses, so carrying a case that can fit one or the other is a must for me. I've yet to find a pocketable one though... :-\ What I've ended up doing is using an old RayBan case, but I can only carry it without noticing it's there when wearing a SeV jacket. In any other scenario, the case goes in my bag (or in my GF's bag, when I'm not carrying mine). I was looking into getting one of the Hazard4 cases (e.g., clicky, clicky) to put on the bag's strap for easy access, but never really warmed up to it.

If I have to pocket my eyeglasses I have an Oakley sock I put them in. That's what my magnetic shades stay in tucked in my left cargo pocket. If needed, I have a hard case made by Izod I can use in my bag.

This... right here. +1

Seriously.

You don't need to carry a case for prescription glasses. You're wearing them all the time. You SHOULD have a dinky little screw driver and maybe a repair kit to fix them should a lens pop out. I've been wearing glasses for ... emm... 30+ years? Anyway, I've broken one pair at the ear stem. I've had two pair come undone at the screw where the frame holds together (thereby sending a lens free). I've needed the little driver to fix those two loose-lens situations. There was no fixing the broken ear stem (even with superglue). Never... ever... not once, ever needed a case for them. And as for that dinky needed screwdriver? you can just use the tweezer of any swiss army knife. Or, the models with corkscrews have dedicated little flathead screwdrivers (or you can add one). Several scissor-based multitools also have very good eye-glass scale screwdrivers (SOG Crosscut, Leatherman Micra, etc).

I should, but... I hate wearing my glasses, and would rather squint at blurry objects than have them on all day.  I've had them for over 20 years, and I've never worn them all the time.  I need them for distance.  The distance, over the years, has become about 3 feet...  ::)  At times I do get frustrated, especially at work, and them on, swearing that I'm always going to wear them.  That usually lasts a day or two.  It is kind of fun when contractors see me wearing them.  My response to "When did you start wearing glasses?" is, "When I was 11."  :P  At the rifle range, at the movies, or at a hockey game, though, they're always on.
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

I suggest you wait until you get them so you know what size case you will need.  These days frames can vary considerably in size, depending on the style. Otherwise you may buy a case that is too small or considerably larger (and therefore much bulkier) than needed.

+1 on a small screwdriver for when the screw holding the lens comes loose.

I agree with the screwdriver but is it me or is it insane to expect an eyeglass wearer to be able to see that screw head if trying to fix it?¿?

Just buy a hard shell case when you get your glasses.
I have yet to see an Optometrist not carry them at their office.
If you have no aversion to shopping at Walmart they carry them as well.

I only use one for storing my glasses in the car but otherwise leave them dangling
around my neck by a eyeglass strap.

In my case, i would have no real chance to fix them myself, but finding a helpful person is hard enough, so being able to supply teh screwdriver will be a plus.

I do only need a case when i carry sunglasses and my usual glasses.

Seriously.

You don't need to carry a case for prescription glasses. You're wearing them all the time.
Not if you have one pair with clear lenses for night/indoors/work/reading/etc. and another pair with dark lenses for outdoors/sunlight (aka prescription sunglasses)... ;)

Otterbox 9000 Case.
It can keep my prescription glasses, a pair of protection glasses and a sunglasses clip-on.

In the cap I put, secured with a rubber band, cleaning kit and magnifying clip-ons.

It hangs from my backpack thanks to the buckle on the back.
