New flat tool from Stagejunk
on: December 09, 2012, 12:08:31 AM
More tools specialized for the entertainment lighting industry.

The Ultimate Flat Focus Tool has openings for 3/4"/l9mm, 7/8", 17mm, 9/16", 1/2", 3/8", 5/16", a bottle opener, and lanyard hole.

The small tool, which was just introduced, has slots from 3/4", 1/2", 3/8" & 5/6"

Just letting you collectors know that there are always more tools to buy.  ;)

Thanks for the heads up! They seem to have the idea of multitools down- I see bottle openers on them!

I have the larger one. I've been using it for about two years now. It's fantastic, and while you don't get quite the leverage as an 8" C-wrench, it is so fast I can't imagine hanging or focusing without it. Maybe I should post a longer review. Thanks for the heads up about the smaller one.

A bottle opener is essential in all trades which involve lights, and tools, and.... well most everything really :tu:

I like the simplicity of them too.

Peter Atwood isn't here posting links to his own sales threads.

If he was, (not that he needs to), he would be paying for the privilege by helping to supporting the form.

Think you are misunderstanding. Am jumping out on a limb here... and probably going to get :twak: for it... :ahhh

The forum has many interests, its members openly give feedback and tips. We are a world wide family that supports one another, though we have our share of :twak: & :pok: and a bit of  going around. Though not everyone here agrees with everyone, we do try to respect others too. Otherwise a Moderator comes by and nerfs our actions.  :ahhh

Some members may have trades, posts are not about selling or pointing to their product sales page. Some do ask for feedback to help with their designs, a few have given a few products out in for form of contests. Some here have stores through EDC Source, which we find handy when wanting their services - or we send them PMs for outside business. But they do not set up shop here.
And those same members are helping others and being part of the community. Can look up their posts and see they are not always talking about their products & services.

I never followed the EDC stuff or forums, but when my project was mentioned here, I think I have a right to come on here and defend myself.  I don't necessarily need to go around commenting on everybody's thread with useless information, because that is what it would be.  I have no tips for you all, all I can do here is learn, but I haven't even had time to do that. Then I get criticized and had my link removed for a PROJECT of mine, it is NOT A STORE, I was NOT advertising.  Sure I could of posted pictures, ok, point taken.  I do not participate in forums, I learn from them and move on.  Most of the time I learn what I needed and there is no reason for me to sign up for an account.

You could look at my project as a "hey, if he can do it, then I can do it" but instead you take it negatively, which shows what kind of respect a new member gets shown here and I don't personally think it looks good for the forum in general.

Kickstarter is so much more than a store, I'm sorry you all see it as a store.

Actually, I believe it is seen as a way for you to raise funds from our members.  Come here and learn all you like, but if you want members to support you, some kind of reciprocation I think is only fair.  No one is trying to shake you down for money, although that is one option.  There are lots of others.

That's what's being asked- that you treat the people willing to help you fairly.  If you think that's being disrespectful then that is your opinion and you have a right to it.

So what your saying is that others can post about my Kickstarter project without my permission, but I can't.  Good to know.

Do you have any idea how arrogant this sounds?  Nobody needs permission to post a link regarding a kickstarter campaign for a one piece multitool.  That's what we do here.  We discuss multitools.  The existence of a kickstarter campaign is in the public domain and  the fact that we discussed it is to your benefit.

As far as linking future campaigns I think you just need to be aware that it can come across as advertising/pushing your products.  In general if that is going to be done should have some sort of arrangement with the forum owner.  The man who pays for the site might appreciate some deference.

I think most forums would absolutely insist on this.

As far as you feeling the need to defend your product.  I think that's wrong also.  We discuss tools here, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  If you want to take the feedback we give you please do, if not don't.

Personally I like your product, not enough to buy it mind you, but I do like it.  I'm just not into one piece tools.

I'm thinking you just need to relax and join the community.  Hang out, contribute to what we have going on here and have fun.

Contact the boss and establish some ground rules and all will be well.

Nobody is giving you a hard time about starting a Kickstarter campaign.  In fact you should be commended.

Your statement about the treatment of newcomers comes across as whiny and if you had spent any amount of time here as a contributor you'd know that this forum has an exemplary, maybe unique, respect for newcomers.  You would realize how preposterous your statement is.

I think it's your behavior that's in question here, and with your last post I believe you've lost a supporter.

Relax, don't take things personally.

On the top right corner, if the forum is viewed on a browser. If you click on ''make a donation" you will see members names.

All of those members have volunteered their money for a clean, fun and informative place. Regardless of advertising or not, we at MTO.org support our website through giveaways and generous members.

That being said, good luck on your product launch and may fortune be on your side.

Very cool, that helps!  Thank you!

Once my projects are over, I will see if I fit in here, and then decided on what to do.  No sense in sponsoring a forum if people don't like what I have to offer.

:bnghd:  Why always a snide remark? Regardless of how great a product is, of one lacks respectful business smarts the product is susceptible to failure. Might not be the product that is in question here.

I dont understand.  Honesty is what I'm all about.  Would you rather I lie?  It seems here in general that people twist my words in their heads and assume things that aren't true. Its non stop on this forum it seems.  I could say "have a good day everyone" and I would get some reply stating I'm arrogant or something.

I honestly don't understand much of what has happened here other than I'm some kind of target for your pleasure.

With that, I will be leaving, I don't seem to be welcome here.

Good day!

I'm pretty certain everyone here has said you were welcome here.  In fact, let me quote a few times.

That being said, good luck on your product launch and may fortune be on your side.

Nobody is giving you a hard time about starting a Kickstarter campaign.  In fact you should be commended.

[snip]

Relax, don't take things personally.

That certainly sounds like a very rude, intolerant bunch to me, but I suppose your mind is made up.

By the way, we will not be deleting this thread as you requested.  Things stand as they stand here at MTO.  We own our mistakes as well as our successes here, and like it or not, this is a part of the forum and I won't be damaging that for anyone.

You are always welcome here and I am certain if you want to stop twisting our words, you will find this is a great place to be, and very informative for designers.  Just leave the chip off your shoulder next time.
