We returned home for a few days to see how things are going here and oh dear we’ve found a mess we left in a rush

Among many other things I’ve replaced a few parts in our espresso maker using a pair of  Swiss Champ pliers

Good like new

It might be an unpopular opinion but I love the Victorinox pliers. I haven’t had my Deluxe Tinker long but I used them several times before I had to put it in a drawer for a month for the Spartan Challenge.

I found them to be very handy in quite a few situations, especially for someone who does a lot with small electronics and kids toys.

Totally agree, those are amazing for the electronic works

Coffee is of paramount importance. Nicely done! :tu:

I love the Victorinox pliers.
They are a surprisingly effective little tool. Makes me wish the Mechanic and the Special Mechanic were still in production.

Executive nail file popped the shift release cover, and shifted the Kia into neutral so I could push it for a jump. I think I left the hazards on for about 3 days... opps.

I use alox saks as a worry stone.  The texture is quite nice and stimulating.

Fishing with my PT Army Aitor Al Ligator. Pliers for cutting line, and untie small knots, close weights, blade for opening weights, and bottle opener for beer.

Scraping off a candle wax spill from my jeans...only to find I scraped off the jeans too. Funny...yes. Double `funny` if you know I only have one pair of jeans at a time and these were relatively new!

Only the French can design and build a car where checking engine oil requires XAVT and SwissTool:

XAVT pliers are too short to access the dipstick. Should remember that by now

Oh wow, what model is that?

My wife’s Citroen has a normal dipstick you can easily grab by the plastic handle

Kadjar with the 1,5 diesel engine.
There are few issues with the design and exeution methinks. Firstly the cap is in a hole and does not have normal threads. This is a page from Mercedes playbook. However in a Mercedes the cap is just the cap. In Renault the dipstick is attached the the cap. So, in theory opening the cap pulls out the dipstick. However, the material used is plastic, so it only works once or twice. After that one needs to pull the dipstick out. With pliers...

To add to the injury, there is no way to check oil level other than the dipstick.
Renault has loaded the thing with all kinds of moderm widgets and electric what nots but oil has to be checked from under the bonnet.

So the dipstick is under the cap where you add more oil in ? Interesting.
Also, I believe that the small diesels engines for A and B series Mercedes are made by Renault so no wonder they share some sh..tuff.

On the topic of how I used my SAK -  made a salad.

My wife car had a screw in the tire,. Tinker came out and used the bottle cap opener to remove the screw, luckily it is not leaking.

Found some weds growing in a stump in the garden (which would've grown to a large bush that would be hard to get rid of) with my Gardener, as it was the cheapest knife I had on me. Not to mention sharpest, as I find the chisel grind a joy to sharpen. Even a caveman could do it.

Bad quality photo but Aquarius scaled Classic opening up a packet of new knives

and this is what I got:

2 handmade navajas from Joker. Sevillana and Classico.
Especially the Sevillana seems very nice. At 47 euros it is almost a steal. Classico has a slipjoint lock but at 19,- I’m not complaining on that either

Yesterday I used the can opener on my Camper to remove a bunch of thick staples from the back of an old picture frame at the request of Mrs. marlowe221.

The curve on the sharp side of the  can opener is perfect for a job like that!

I had a better golf bag but the outside was not the best, so I started using a utility knife to cut the bag yet all it did was rip the bag, so I broke out the FarmerX and it just sliced right through and made it so much easier, so I ended up getting all the pockets and whatnot off and cleaned it up, then switched it out with the little kiddy bag, this bag is so much nicer all divided and padded at the top and totally keeps the staffs upright!

I used the scissors on my Huntsman to cut open the bag inside a box of cereal. The darn thing just wouldn’t open and I didn’t want to explode it all over the kitchen.

Went to the post office to ship a couple of SAKs that I've just sold on eBay, only to discover that the tracking sticker USPS uses is too big to fit on the little boxes that I'd packed them in.

As a result, I had to use the blade on my Wenger Highlander to free them from their cardboard prison until I can get them into some padded envelopes.

On that note, do any of you know of a good way to get dry tape gunk off of a knife blade?

I use veggie oil or non stick spray.
