Decided in the interests of stupidity to cut some barrier tape without first removing my index finger from the danger zone ......one of the few benefits of being an ex-medic is that when the red stuff flows, you know where to put pressure........and to think I tell my kids that knives need to be handled with care :D

Is there no award for "dumbass"??? :D
I never received one, so I think there isn't... yet.

 :D :D :D :D

I used the awl on my Spirit to poke a hole in a plastic flower pot to drain out some water.

Had to remove a couple of wall anchors that had busted off in the wall (these aren't the cheap ones you get in big packs from discount stores--these were heavy-duty 30 lb. rated ones I  bought from Lowes) and I tried everything in my toolbox, and even the 91mm corkscrew. Well, except for my screw extractors--can't find them.

Decided the long 5-turn corkscrew on the 108mm GAK would do it, and it did. Got one out enough to yank it out with pliers, and the other fell into the wall cavity. Now all I gotta do is patch the paneling.

Hey don't beat yourself up! Knives will occasionally bite. If you can teach it to kids, all the better!

One of my tasks at work is sawing metal, mostly for building machines or for facility construction. Today I had to saw a lot of  trapezoidal parts with  45° bevels on a square tube, 220 * 120 * 12,5 mms. At the end of one cut, the saw band got blocked. I lifted the band with the machine a bit, and tried again with lower infeed. Finally the cut was through, but at the end it ran outward and formed a small bulge of about 15 mm. I removed the part from the saw machine and changed the saw band, continuing my work. There wasn't enough material for an additional cut, not even in stock one hall further, so I took a closer look.

The first cut looked good, only three mm on the edge weren't cut, and the protruding bulge hung on it. No way the customer would accept this part. So I produced my trustworthy Swisschamp XL and used the metal saw to finish the part. It took a while and some elbow grease to saw off the bulge of S235 steel, but I succeeded at last. Yours truly can be a stubborn kind of fellow sometimes ...  The cut looked quite good, but there was still a small burr at the ridge ... Out came the Leatherman Surge (v.1) from the rucksack, the woodsaw was exchanged for the diamond file, and some strokes fixed the problem.  :tu: Looking good, and for welding double good.

And no, we don't have any hand metal saws at work, just half a dozen machine saws, which do their job ... mostly.  :dunno: Sorry, no pics, all hands were needed here ...
Best regards and stay safe,

Wolfgang

Here in olde europe not all cans come with a ring pull tab.

So as my SO asked me to open a can of lentil stew, I took the opportunity to use my SwissChampXL's can opener. Went smooth, and took me about a minute... :2tu:

I was in a pizza restaurant. They serve pizzas only on giant boards. No cutlery. And wobbly pizza rolling cutter. Those are mostly useless. But the pizza is amazing and I had my Waiter with me. Great day.
Best,

Did use the Fish Scaler for cleaning up this Cutting Edge on this Package Glueband Roller ? „Packetbandabroller“ in German , i dont know for what else i should use this tool in my Swisschamp..

Also used the Scissors to cut some Candle Wick at work,
I have to say it again: It’s awesome how easy you can fold out the Scissors on the Victorinox Knives, much better than on the Wenger Modells..  even whit short fingernails..
Your SAK is only fully yours, when it bites you, or you opend a Trink of your joice whit it
SAKs i have: Huntsman Light (Red Transparent), Workchamp (Black), Wenger EvoGrip S557 (Red), Swisschamp XLT (Red Transparent).. Swisschamp (Blue Transparent) Cybertool L (Blue Celidor (custom scales) , Huntsman (Black Celidor) , Victorinox EvoGrip S557 (Red, but sadly lost in my house somewhere) Victorinox Delemont S17 and S57 ..  , waiting for: Swiza D09 Blue

Opened a glass of pickled cucumbers. Twisted the bottle opener of my Swisschamp XL under the lid till it makes "plop", then twist-off is easy. Could have used the dedicated twist-off device in our household, but this makes some indents in the lid, so re-use is not an option...   :(

Nice work, tinker gnome! The corkscrew is also good for that job as I’ve learnt from others on this forum!

Thanks, guys!  :hatsoff:

Rizio: never heard of the cs being used for this task. I'll try next time, though.

Alternatively we use a CountyComm 2" widgy pry bar for opening lids from glasses. My SO has been so impressed by this little device, now she's got one of her own. No SAK, of course. But using the bottle opener as a prybar doesn't mean there aren't some more pry bars in our home.
