Black Pioneer to pop pistachios
Did you use the can opener or the blade?

Nice work!  :tu:

From last weekend... out with the old Volvo it was time for lunch! My trusty farmer did the job as expected, first opened the canned meat and then cut it nicely

Yesterday I used my Minichamp to save the afternoon for a fellow who is a french horn player. He had loose a little piece of rubber in his instrument and had just a few minutes before he would need to play again. I had a few pieces of cork in my trombone case, so I used the blade to cut a small bit and used the small Phillips screwdriver to take two screws out and put the cork in place.

Then, a couple of hours later, a trombone player used the bigger Phillips screwdriver in my Vic Explorer to fix his trombone. Meanwhile, I also used the can opener to... Open a can of food for lunch :-) oh, and the main blade for fruit as always.

Good work. I really like that.  :tu: I might have to give one a go myself. After I finish my ball in a cage. I'm lagging big time on it.  :twak:

Pioneer awl and knife were used to cut the horribly applied, bubbling powdercoat job off of a bike frame that I am attempting to bring back from near death.

I've been using the Ranger's small blade for opening boxes here at work.  I originally thought the small blade was a redundant tool, but I've changed my mind.  I find it very handy to have a small blade like that for opening packages and anything like that.  It's nice to keep the main blade away from tasks like that in case I want to use it for food, which I've found myself doing more lately (probably as an excuse to use it ;)).

I have always loved a secondary small blade. I tend to make the smaller blade my main blade and the larger one as a backup.  :tu:

Yup, seems to be going that way for me on the Ranger.  I think I've only used the main blade to slice apples so far, while the small blade has done a lot more.

There are some older posts on MTO that suggest the smaller blade is ideal for whittling.  :D

I don't whittle, but it's something I could see myself enjoying if I were to give it a try.  Maybe when I'm old and gray ;)

This was actually last night, but I forgot to post it.  I used the bottle opener on my Ranger to bend the hanging piece out more on the back of a picture frame so that it would better hang on the nail.

Today I used the measuring ruler on my Victorinox Minichamp to correctly identify a lot of small screws by their size. I was following a guide for laptop disassembling, and those little screws kept appearing. It was a lot easier by measuring them, as the guide specified the correct screw size at each step.

Actually, the ruler was one of the Minichamp's tools that thought I would rarely use, because it can only measure up to 3,5cm. But then there comes a moment where you need the tool and it's right there :-)

The Minichamp was indeed very used today. I used the ruler to push a little thing in a small space, and the cuticle pusher to spread glue in a laptop component (I cleaned it rapidly). Meanwhile, the tweezers of my Explorer Plus were used to collect some garbage from the inside of the computer (I could have used the Minichamp's tweezers, but I have replaced them with a toothpick).

The day ended with an orange being peeled with that odd blade of the Minichamp - is it a true orange peeler? What do you think? I guess the Executive orange peeler is more efficient at that task. Do you agree?

I would rate the minichamp as being the better orange peeler (even though it wasn't originally designed for this purpose). I worry about cutting too deep into the orange with the executive, so I have to cut slowly and carefully. With the minichamp, I think it's easier to just zip around the orange at full speed.

Well, the Minichamp blade slides very well through the orange skin, but then I think it fails a little but not having that head in the end to help lift the skin.

Wenger Ranger 14 to decapitate my sunflower for drying out, hack off the leaves and cut down the stem so it would go in the garden waste bin. Then same tool for removing the mangetout plants and hacking back tomato plants so they focus on the few remaining trusses.

Today I used the Phillips (combo tool) in my Minichamp to open a lamp glass cover. A fly was stuck between the lamp and the cover and there was a strange burning smell in the air. We discovered that it was the dead roasted fly...

I gave my Ranger's saw a try for the fun of it.  Worked great, but I can't say it was any better than the saws on my MTs.  Also used the toothpick today.  Corn on the cob can make those a handy tool;)
