Well couldn’t use the FarmerX this time, but the Mrs and I were taking the trash out and she ended up getting a splinter/sliver, and of course any one knows any sak’s tweezers are the absolute best to get them out! Only problem was this one didn’t want to come out so I had the Mrs go get the Champion Plus so I could use the pin to work it lose and get it out!
Of course let’s not forget about me, cause as she got the splinter she dropped the wood in which scratched me all down the back of the leg,,

A freshly polished 91’ Explorer conquered the dreaded plastic straps on the 1x1’s at the Home Depot.  :D

I didn't take a pic but used my new to me Spartan lite to cut my bagel, open a can of tuna, and also slice up a pickle for my lunch. Worked like a charm.

I needed some toppings for my salad today. Since it is One Layer Monday I used my beat up Waiter as it was in my pocket.

These are great little food prep knives but do lack in blade length a tad.

Cleaned the laser on my mitre saw. Unscrewed the…cover?lens?

Cut a piece of sponge and secured it to the hook (o ring for demonstration, I actually used a small zip tie) to clean the recessed interior surface with alcohol to remove the built up sawdust and pine resin.

I whittled some dowel rods into garden stakes to support some snapdragons that I'm attempting to save. I also used the scissors to cut twine to tie the stems upright, and to prune the plants.

I'm still learning this whole gardening thing, but my SAK (my new SwissChamp in this case, other times an Explorer or Super Tinker) is a great helper in the garden.

The magnifying glass also comes in handy for examining bugs on my flowers and herbs.
Current SAKs: Explorer, SwissChamp, Handyman (modded), Climber, Super Tinker, Tinker, Woodsman (modded), Electrician, Pioneer, SwissTool, Executive, Ambassador, Champion Plus
Current Leatherman tools: PST, Original Wave, Wave, Wave+, Blast, Bond, Curl, Style PS, Micra

I took cover behind the collapsed remnants of a building as bullets flew above and all around my position. I was out of ammo, but took notice of an enemy carbine that lay next to it’s fallen owner. Only eight feet alway, but with all the lead pelting the ground around it it may as well have been on the moon.
Determined and desperate, I took a length of cordage and secured it to the split ring of my Climber. I opened the parcel hook, and like a fisherman I cast the line carefully towards my target and pulled it in, hoping to snag the fabric of the rifles sling. My first two casts missed their mark, but on the third the hook latched on, and after gingerly pulling the line in the rifle was in my hands at last…

Actually, the truth is my 4 year old threw my keys in a public toilet and the Climber took one for the team.
I did get to use the hook twice in two days, to there’s that.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Better that your SAK takes the plunge than the alternative! This also illustrates the utility of cordage as part of one's EDC. Is that sunglasses retainer cord?

I hope your Climber is immersed in disinfectant right now. Yuck!

It is, and after discovering the hooks utility as a retrieval tool I think I’m going to add some longer cordage to my daily carry. I can think of several other times I could have employed this setup, but having only my pioneer with key ring nub removed I was forced to find other ways.
And yes, the Climber had to undergo some intense sanitation protocols after the incident, and perhaps therapy later. Luckily I have access to an autoclave  :tu:

Used the pin in my Compact to retrieve a stuck empty ink cartridge, deep in the barrel of a Kaweco Liliput. Perhaps not what the designers would ever have intended, but it worked perfectly. Would have been very difficult otherwise.

I lean toward the Alox models, so this is the first one I've had with the pin. I'm starting to understand the appeal.

Used a Champion to attach a new finderscope on my telescope. Later I used a Cybertool to make some adjustments (needed a small hex driver but the TX one kind of worded  ).

You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

You're just teasing us.

Those look like SAK accessories in that box and maybe a SAK wrapped up?

And is that a mod? Looks like a Passenger with a fully-serrated blade.

Details, please...

I didn't know if I was to show the inside of the box here or in what do you have on the way thread but I can put it here too, I have teased you enough

First off, in the box is some accessories so my yellow mod can have a little blue as the Swedish flag

Then there is a tuxedo for my bladeless mod, I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and that gavee a good excuse to get some new plus scales

And last but not least, it's not a passenger but an explorer with saw instead of the scissors and a serrated blade

I have an alox version too but with PE blade

Thanks, kottskrapa.

Cool color combo there.

Nice modded Explorer. I didn't see the wood saw in the original pic. Just looked like three layers to me.   :dunno:  What's the purpose of the cut-down can opener?

And of course, now you need to post a pic of the Alox one.

To not get to far away from topic, you are welcome to take a look here in the thread from the mod section and the can opener is modded for more reach. Still works for cans but with a bit more force

I tried using my SwissChamp's pen to take notes during a meeting today. It was mostly an experiment. I used the method of holding the pen in place under the hook, which sort of allowed me to write words.

There's a tropical storm (possibly category 1 hurricane) bearing down on us here in the Houston area. Here's hoping that I won't get a chance to test my SwissChamp's saw on downed tree limbs in our yard!
