A Wenger heirloom??

We now all know the tragic news that wenger will soon stop producing knives under the wenger name. This has prompted me to think carefully as to whether or not picking up a heirloom would be a good idea/investment.

The problem is..Which one?

I've pondered it over the past few days, and admittedly as of this moment in time it is all but a pipe dream 

But, I've narrowed my choice down to just 2
either the:-

Heritage knife
or
Giant Knive

Granted, the giant knive costs almost double, but the heritage is more limited in it's availability.

The dilemma is....Which??

probably none  (or both??)
... but - I would choose Heritage in spite of fact it was produced by Victorinox as well. I think it is real Heritage of the SAK design, not experiment like Giant one.

......I would choose Heritage in spite of fact it was produced by Victorinox as well. I think it is real Heritage of the SAK design, not experiment like Giant one. 

I'm thinking along similar lines, at present a quick search on the net shows there to be a plethora of Heritage's out there - and most of them being heavily discounted too!!
But once the news gets out into the wider public domain, I'm pretty certain that could change fairly quickly. I can think of many professionals who would snap these up in an instant if they thought there was any serious kudos to be gained in owning one.

After seeing so many in Geneva, I would like to have a Giant knife, just to be able to play all day long, opening and closing all those blades. It is a nice exhibition item also, great if you have a glass display for SAKs in the house. A gaze attractor, guaranteed. It summarizes Wenger's hardware beautifully, sampling all 85mm tools of every version. And it will give you the opportunity to provide us with tons of pictures and a thorough review. It will make you the king of the hill, instantly. And it doubles as an anchor for your yaucht.

Ah.. that's too bad but I guess it really is more for the gimmick factor than being practical.
