Leatherman Brewzer's first impressions.
on: December 29, 2012, 03:20:59 AM

This small review will be based on first impressions and aesthetics only as I have not used it for any tasked as of now.

Right out of the box my immediate visual impression was good as well as a positive impression after first handling the tool. It is obviously very simple and feels solid. After closer inspection I noticed a few things. As you will see in the pictures (hopefully) there are a few points on the tool that were left a bit rough after the "Stamping" of the tool. I know that's not the proper word to describe the manufacturing I just cannot think of the proper name. The rough spots are really no big deal and it's honestly the only thing I could find that was not as I would like. With very minimal, light file work it will be gone and done with. All in all my first impressions are very good on this little tool and for $9.99 Shipped to my door I am a happy camper with this one. I would of bought a few more (as gifts) if I had the money.

This picture is for size comparison.

These show the imperfections. The toothpick is to show the area of the imperfection's. The pictures do not show the imperfections very well as I could not get a good shot. It looks worse in person.

It is the same size as the one the Pirahna, which opens Woodchuck just fine.

I've got the old Brewzer and it's my favourite small keychain tool.

Lots of utility in a small light package at a great price :tu:

FYI, looks the same, even with "roughspot", on my pre-Leatherman PockettoolX Brewser.  So the roughness must be part of the manufacturing process

Maybe a diamond file would work to smooth those out?

Where did you get it for $9.99 shipped?

Cheapest I can find is $15 and that's too steep for me.  It might be worth a flier at $9.99 shipped.

Geez that settles it there.  I hate one piece tools that are that tiny.

That's really quite bizarre.... I was thinking about that exact thing when trying to sleep last night - could it be made in to a SAK tool??
