Lot's of outstanding work from the mod squadron, you guys rock!

Anyone tried putting a pocketclip on alox scales? Pics?
I'm having a brain fart....could the hollow rivet (vintage Soldier) be used?

Im working on some Ti wrap around style now that uses the main pivot to hold it on, but I haven't got it done yet.  Its either going to be just a thin rectangle held in by a milled slot, or a full liner size one piece with the clip wrap around style.

I tapped the aluminum scales one time for a screw on clip, but I never liked relying on screws in soft material and loose clips are the worst!

I taped my Edc alox explorer and it's be going strong now for about 8 months :). As syph said though, aluminum is a tricky metal to tap properly. I bought a 2/56 drill and tap combo set. Also you need to use the correct thread lubricant for aluminum. I also used blue loctite to keep it there.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Got a low rider Ti clip on a 93mm Alox - Neil did it by tapping the scale :)

Seems to be holding up very well.

Yep same as I did. Also if you get a tap kit, get 2 taps. One regular and one bottom tap. You can do this with the knife still together just be very careful.

I think I might be more likely to trust the stock clips with three screws.  The one I did, I just wasnt happy with, I was so afraid to strip out the threads.

As an afterthought I think I would have just used brass pins and riveted the thing on, with a countersunk hole on the inside, and sand the inside rivet flush.  That has to be stronger than tapping.  But then you cant get it off either... pros and cons I guess.

Yes that would be a solid fitting. But how would you peen the pivot with a lowride clip? (like in the picture on the left). I guess for someone like me, easiest would be to just tap the scales and screw the clip on.

On the right in the picture you see a Soldier with hollow rivet. Hmm, perhaps I can use a torx pivot (or something) to bold it on, and leave the vintage scales untouched that way?

One of you got a picture to show?

Thanks everyone for the great respond.

Happy new year!
