So, what tool do I have?

Having been away from SAKs for a while I am kind of behind on the models. My wife got this for me about 4 or 5 years ago I think. Can you tell me which model I have? Also, are there any newer ones I should be looking at?

That is indeed an RS. There's been a lot since then, but nothing really any
better
, although there are some here that might prefer others.
Are there any issues you have with that one that might lead in a certain direction? By that I mean, do you want one handed opening blades, smaller form factor or any other functions that might be lacking on the SwissTool?
Good to see you back!

Not really anything specific Def, this one has done everything I have asked of it. Guess I am just looking for an excuse
the last few years I just got too much in to the "tactical" knife thing and really forgot how much I enjoyed the SAKs. Nothing else seems to give the pure joy of the SAK. I do want to get the Rescue Tool (in yellow) and another multitool. As for the type of multitool, this one does just fine, but if they make a tool with extra bits (like the cyber tool Knives) that would definitely get my interest. Thanks for the welcome, good to be back!

Make sure you buy a Rescue Tool from a reputable seller- there have been a lot of fakes running around. Here's a comparison I did a while back after obtaining a fake from someone who had purchased it thinking it was real.

Beyond that, the Leatherman Rebar just won our Multitool Of The Year for 2012, so that might be worth checking out. Leatherman also created a Gerber-esque sliding head plier tool called the OHT if you are looking for an oddity. CRKT has produced a neat tool (imaginatively called the CRKT Tool) that has wrench cutouts in the side and switchblade screwdrivers that is kind of neat. SOG came out with the Power Duo that is kind of Vic like in shape, but there have been some quality issues with it, and Gerber has issued the Dime, a keychain plier tool that seems to have made a bit of a splash as well. There was more, but those are pretty well the highlights of 2012.
The one tool you are going to want to be sure you don't miss out on, coming (hopefully) soon from CRKT is the Raker Ring Tool, designed by our good buddy Ray Kirk. It should be pretty inexpensive- the handmade ones usually run around the $20 mark and they are pretty sweet, so I imagine the production ones will be great too.
And, getting a CRKT one supports one of our guys who made it big, so there's a good reason to get a new tool if you need one!

Thanks for the heads up on the fake. I got a fake G-Shock once, enough to really make you upset. As for the Rescue Tool I will be ordering this weekend when I am off work and have the time to properly find a safe place to buy from.
Interesting you mention Ray Kirk. I visited his shop once, doesn't live terribly far away and have had a couple of neck knives he used to make. Very nice guy and pretty incredible knives.
