Headphones for Android smartphone
on: January 09, 2013, 04:58:58 PM
The only earbuds I like for my Android smartphone have been discontinued for awhile. Although they were designed for the iPhone, they work perfectly with my Android.  I bought up a few spares from The Source when they were discontinued, but I haven't found anything equivalent so far.

Anything similar and still available has the two-button volume control which doesn't work with my phone. I would like either a slider or a wheel control for volume. If anyone knows where I can still buy this type, I would be grateful.

Have you tried eBay or someplace like Deal Extreme?

Only if they are in the original packaging and DNA-free.

eBay isn't as much of a fleabag organization as they used to be. Most if the stuff you find is from the manufacturer in China- often the same manufacturer as the name brands you pay an arm and a leg for locally, only you cut out the expensive name and retail distribution network.

Yeah, pretty much all the stuff I bought on ebay are NIB, some are even original Samsung (Battery and MHL link, listing will say it). Heck they are all made in China anyway, why pay the 100% premium just so you'll have the privilege of paying another 16% in tax?

With the money you save, go to Staples, buy some labels and print the big name logos out and stick them on yourself. No one will know the difference!  :P

Not everything in life is a moral issue man- if you treat everything like some kind of major issue then you are going to have some serious problems you don't need down the line.  Besides, it was a joke.  You are relatively new around here so I'll let you in on a little secret- the vast majority of what I say is not serious, so I wouldn't suggest you take it as such.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled dancing banana.

I'm not going to have a moral debate with anyone on here. I was just returning the banter in kind.  If you want to lecture me on my moral stance, I might just as well pick up my toys and play somewhere else.

Up to you man.  No hard feelings if you stay, and none if you move on.  That's the kind of laid back place this is.

Aww now, we can all play nicely regardless of our particular humorous proclivities :D

Probably doesn't quite answer the original question, but my new headphones for iphone are RHA, which is a UK company :tu:
Sounds wise, they are bloody awesome for the £25ish I paid for them. They also do one with control buttons:

I came here to have fun, and this isn't.
What-say we just zero it out and move on.

I heard that Skull Candy are good, and the new iPhone 5 head phones are also suppose to be good. I don't like in ear ones, so I can't give a first hand review on anything.

I remember looking at the skull candy earphones in store, if you read the spec they are kinda smurfty compare to equal priced models from an actual electronics manufacturer, say JVC or Phillips.
